Duda will begin the season as the everyday first baseman, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports. Duda struggled mightily against south paws in 2015, finishing the season with an atrocious, .180/.264/.252 batting line. Manager Terry Collins has decided to give him another shot, pushing John Mayberry into a straight bench role. It's possible the platoon will return, however, if Duda can't produce against lefties once again.
