Duda downplayed the severity of the back issue that caused him to receive cortisone shots in his hips Friday and has kept him off the field since Wednesday, The New York Daily News reports. "I feel great. Just a spasm in my back, I guess," Duda said Sunday morning. "We'll take a few days now, instead of taking two weeks down the road. Just being cautious. In a couple days, I should be ready to go."
EDGE Analysis
The slugger's optimism is nice to hear, but until Duda's swinging a bat again, fantasy players in early drafts will need to be cautious in adding him to their rosters after back trouble limited him to just seven home runs in 47 games in 2016. There's certainly upside here, given the 57 total homers he blasted the two seasons prior -- just make sure the risk is properly priced in before you take the plunge.
