Duda, out with a stress fracture in his lower back, looked to be about two weeks away from returning to baseball activities in late-June. The hope was that Duda would be back the end of this month but timeline likely can be tossed away given this recent news. James Loney will continue to man first base for the Mets until/if Duda returns this season.
