Duda and the Mets avoided arbitration, agreeing on a one-year, $4.2 million salary early Monday morning, Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports. Duda, who made $1.9 million in 2014, was in line for a big increase after a 30-homer, 92-RBI season last year. He had asked for $4.7 mil while the Mets countered with $3.75 mil when arb figures were exchanged, so the two sides basically split the difference. Duda enters spring training locked in as the Mets' starting first baseman and has two more controllable years for New York.
