Diamond made his debut for the Jays on Monday against the Phillies. He pitched one inning, allowing three runs, two hits and two walks.
EDGE Analysis
The left-hander returned to the show after spending all of 2014 and 2015 in the minors. He's made 59 career appearances in the majors, and Monday was his first in relief. From 2011-2013, the 29-year-old went 19-27 with a 4.43 ERA in 58 starts for Minnesota. Diamond is not expected to pick up starts for the Jays, but should make plenty of appearances as the team's left-handed specialist out of the pen.
