Cole (7-7) gave up four runs on three hits and three walks over 5.2 innings Sunday while striking out six in a 7-3 loss to the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
He didn't allow many baserunners but unfortunately the person he was allowing on base was Billy Hamilton, who stole third base twice off Cole among his own four steals and five (in five attempts) on the game for the Reds. Aside from his brilliant complete-game win over the Mariners at the end of July, Cole has had difficulty lasting deep into games since he returned to the rotation, throwing just 20.2 innings in his other four starts in July and August. He'll look for a better result in his next start Saturday on the road against the Dodgers.
