CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Orioles recently offered a multi-year extension to Matt Wieters, but a deal doesn't appear imminent. The financial terms aren't known, but the offer was believed to be for five years. Wieters is under team control though 2015, so the Orioles are looking to buy out at least his first two years of free agency. While the two sides aren't close at the moment, the 26-year-old backstop figures to benefit from Buster Posey's recent extension with the Giants.
