Canha, who went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in a loss to the Mariners on Monday, is now hitting just .167 (5-for-30) with a double, two RBI, five walks, two hit-by-pitches and six runs in his last eight games.
EDGE Analysis
It's worth noting Canha has actually struck out at an appreciably lesser frequency -- 16.2 percent -- during that sample than his 20.4 percent season figure, with a .208 BABIP over that span partly to blame for his poor numbers. The veteran outfielder has salvaged his OBP during the skid by still drawing walks at an elevated 13.5 percent clip, and he should be able to emerge from his doldrums in short order if he continues to make consistent contact.
