Cain (forearm) is tentatively scheduled to make an extended spring training start Wednesday, CSN Bay Area reports. The right-hander threw 30 pitches to live hitters Saturday and is now penciled in for three innings or around 45 pitches in Scottsdale, Arizona, next week. Manager Bruce Bochy said he is "really encouraged" with how Cain is throwing the ball, and it sounds like Cain still has a chance to make it back to the major league roster before the All-Star break.
