Brignac's contract was selected from Triple-A New Orleans on Monday, MLB.com's Joe Frisaro reports. Brignac spent his 2014 campaign with the Phillies, batting .222/.300/.346 over 91 plate appearances. The Marlins are a bit short-handed in the infield, with Donovan Solano representing their only current backup, so Brignac will fill in as a reserve in the short term. He'll likely be expendable once Don Kelly (finger) returns to health.
