Benoit (calf) is not using crutches anymore and threw on flat ground Monday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet reports.

This is a good sign for the veteran reliever, as it seems he's able to put a good amount of weight on the calf less than month after injuring it. The Blue Jays have not ruled Benoit out for the duration of the playoffs, so if the Blue Jays qualify for the World Series and the right-hander builds up enough strength by the end of the month, he could find his way back into the Toronto bullpen before the postseason's end.
