Kendrick (hamstring) hit in a simulated game Friday, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kendrick did the same Tuesday, and the plan is to ramp up the baseball activities over the weekend. If all goes well then, the 32-year-old should be able to rejoin the big league club in time for the stretch run of the regular season.

Kendrick (hamstring) could begin playing in games next week, Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kendrick had reportedly "plateaued" in his recovery from a hamstring issue that has sidelined him since early August, but it appears he's beginning to make some more progress. It's unclear exactly when he'll rejoin the big league club, but it could be around the corner if he continues without a hitch.

Kendrick (hamstring) is still not ready to return to game action, Dylan Hernandez of the LA Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kendrick has "plateaued" in his recovery, per manager Don Mattingly, and at this point his hamstring is yet to reach the point where he's comfortable playing in rehab games. As such, he remains without a target return date, and he's likely a week, at the absolute minimum, away from returning to the Dodgers' roster.

Manager Don Mattingly said Friday that Kendrick (hamstring) has "plateaued" in his recovery, Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kendrick is said to be running at about 90 percent, but the Dodgers want to see him really cut loose on the injured hamstring before sending the second baseman out for rehab games. The team was hoping Kendrick would be able to play in minor league games by Sunday, but in light of Mattingly's comments, it appears Kendrick's at least a week away from returning to the major league roster.

Los Angeles Dodgers second baseman Howie Kendrick was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Monday because of a strained left hamstring, according to the Los Angeles Times. Kendrick suffered the injury while beating out an infield hit in Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates and will be out until at least Aug. 24. The 32-year-old has a lengthy history of hamstring injuries and has missed upwards of six weeks with similar issues in the past, indicating that he could be out longer than 15 days. "He leaves a big void," Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said. "For me, Howie is just a bread-and-butter leader. A big part of us. We'll talk about different options." Kendrick has enjoyed a strong season, fortifying the infield defense and batting .296 in the middle of the order. Infield prospect Jose Peraza was called up to fill the team's open roster spot.

Kendrick smashed his seventh home run to break a 10th inning tie as part of a 4-for-5 game in Tuesday's win over Arizona. Kendrick also doubled and raised his batting line to a sterling .298/.349/.429. Kendrick was slugging just .367 with four extra-base hits in June entering the game. His monster night raised his slugging percentage for the month all the way to .427, rewarding owners who kept their patience in the veteran.

Kendrick was 1-for-4 with a two-run double in Thursday's win over the Cubs. The Dodgers' second baseman is still batting just .244 in the month of June, but he should get things going soon enough.

Kendrick is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs, Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports. The 31-year-old will get what looks like a routine rest day after going 1-for-12 in his last three games and 19-for-78 (.244 average) with three extra-base hits so far in June. Enrique Hernandez will man second base and bat leadoff, with Yasiel Puig moving down to the five-hole in the order.
