Kendrick is a bit of a moving part, but he will continue to play regularly for the Dodgers between second base, third base, first base and left field.

Kendrick slugged a solo home run and added a pair of doubles as part of a 4-for-8 day in Sunday's 17-inning win over the Padres.

Kendrick had just one extra-base hit in his previous 10 games heading into Sunday, but he brought the thunder Sunday and went deep for the first time this season. Kendrick is still hitting just .238 through 122 at-bats in 2016, but he is raking at a .351 clip in his last nine games and Sunday's power display is certainly a positive sign.

When Kendrick isn't playing up the middle or hitting for a high average, he brings essentially nothing to the table, and that is the position he finds himself in. His .200/.234/.211 slash line has likely led to him being cut in a variety of formats, and while his batting average should bounce back, there's no reason to expect him to hit for double-digit homers or steal double-digit bases the rest of the way. Carl Crawford will start in left field and hit eighth Saturday.
