Carrera was diagnosed with a fractured right foot and placed on the 10-day disabled list Wednesday.

EDGE Analysis

Though he wasn't forced to exit Tuesday's game against the Rays early due to an injury, X-rays conducted afterward revealed that Carrera was dealing with a serious concern. It's not known whether Carrera will need surgery to address the fracture or if simply rest will do the trick, but either way, the outfielder's recovery timetable is likely to extend beyond the minimum 10 days. Dwight Smith was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move, and he'll enter the starting lineup in left field Wednesday.

Carrera is not in the lineup Wednesday against the A's, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

EDGE Analysis

Carrera was pulled after just one at-bat Tuesday night, but the team hasn't released any news regarding an injury, so consider it a regular day of rest for the outfielder. Chris Coghlan will take his spot in the lineup and bat eighth.

Carrera is out of the lineup Sunday against the Yankees.

EDGE Analysis

Carrera still looks to be the Blue Jays' primary option in left field while Steve Pearce (calf) remains on the disabled list, but he'll sit out for the second straight game, giving way to Chris Coghlan in the lineup. Carrera is hitting just .208 since May 14, but he's been better recently, going 8-for-19 with three walks over the last six games.

Carrera is out of Saturday's lineup against the Yankees, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports,

EDGE Analysis

He has started five straight games in the outfield, primarily in left field, but will make way for Darwin Barney in left against lefty Jordan Montgomery. Carrera is hitting .274/.351/.393 with three home runs and one steal in his last 25 games (84 at-bats).

Carrera is out of the lineup Sunday against the Rangers.

EDGE Analysis

Carrera typically plays against right-handed pitching, but since he's stuck in a 3-for-34 slump at the dish over his last 10 games, a regular starting role may no longer be guaranteed. Chris Coghlan will enter the lineup in left field in place of Carrera, batting ninth against Rangers right-hander Andrew Cashner.

Carrera is out of the lineup Sunday against the Orioles, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

EDGE Analysis

The Orioles are bringing southpaw Wade Miley to the hill in the series finale, so the lefty-hitting Carrera will move to the bench as Blue Jays manager John Gibbons stocks his lineup exclusively with right-handed bats. Carrera had started each of the Jays' previous 12 games, going 12-for-45 (.267 average) with one homer, one stolen base, four RBI and seven runs in that span.

Carrera is out of the lineup Sunday against the Mariners.

EDGE Analysis

Carrera had started the Blue Jays' last five games, but most of those opportunities had come as a result of the team having an extra spot in the lineup available with Kendrys Morales tending to a hamstring injury. With Morales taking back DH duties Saturday without issue, Jose Bautista has since returned to right field, and it appears Steve Pearce will rank ahead of Carrera in the pecking order for at-bats in left field. Carrera will probably still play often enough to warrant roster spots in AL-only formats and deeper mixed leagues, but it could be difficult for him to compile meaningful counting stats in a part-time role.

Carrera went 3-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and three runs in Wednesday's come-from-behind, walk-off victory against Cleveland.

EDGE Analysis

Carrera's third homer of the year, a two-run blast in the bottom of the fourth inning, tied the slugfest at seven. The outfielder continues to outpace his left-field platoon mate, Steve Pearce, and is making a strong case for a heavier workload. Through 29 game and 83 at-bats, Carrera is batting a career-high .313 with 10 RBI. Entering 2017, the 30-year-old's best RBI output for a season was 26, and that came in 2015 over the course of 91 games.

Carrera went 1-for-4 with a solo homer Saturday against the Rays.

EDGE Analysis

Carrera's second homer of the season was of the inside-the-park variety, and was the only run allowed by Rays starter Jake Odorizzi. He's now hit in each of the last 12 games in which he's had an at-bat, but aside from a .306 batting average, he does little else in the other categories, making him a weak fantasy option.

Carrera is out of Wednesday's lineup against the Yankees.

EDGE Analysis

As is typical, Steve Pearce will draw the start against the left-handed starter (CC Sabathia). Carrera is hitting .346/.370/.442 with one home run and one steal over his last 52 at-bats. He should be back in the lineup Friday on the road against righty Chris Archer.
