Clase (1-7) blew the save and took the loss Saturday against the Rays, allowing three runs on four hits while striking out one over two-thirds of an inning.
EDGE Analysis
Clase was called upon in the bottom of the ninth to protect a two-run lead and proceeded to give up a leadoff single to Josh Lowe on the first pitch of the inning. The right-handed reliever then gave up another three hits, all of which led to runs coming across for the Rays as the team pulled off a come-from-behind win. It marked Clase's ninth blown save this season and the second in his last four attempts. He's also allowed at least two hits in three of his last four appearances.

Clase picked up the save in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Blue Jays, striking out two over a perfect inning.
EDGE Analysis
Clase entered the contest with a one-run lead in the top of the ninth and took care of business, striking out Daulton Varsho on three straight pitches in the opening at-bat before finishing the inning with another strikeout against Paul DeJong. The right-handed reliever needed just 11 pitches to get through the frame and record his 31st save of the season. He still has not allowed an earned run since July 4 and now has seven strikeouts to only one walk through four August appearances.

Clase picked up the save in Tuesday's 1-0 win over the Blue Jays. He allowed two hits and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning.
EDGE Analysis
Clase worked around a pair of infield singles, inducing an Alejandro Kirk flyout to end the threat and earn the save. After blowing a save Sunday and serving a one-game suspension Monday for his role in a brawl with the White Sox, the 25-year-old flamethrower returned to notch his 30th save; a milestone Clase has now reached in back-to-back seasons.

Clase (suspension) was reinstated from the restricted list Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Clase will be available out of the bullpen for Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays after sitting out Monday's series opener while he served a one-game suspension for his role in an on-field brawl with the White Sox that occurred Saturday. The Blue Jays opened the scoring Monday with a two-run eighth inning and maintained their lead the rest of the way in a 3-1 win, so Clase didn't miss out on a save chance while he served the suspension.

Clase received a one-game suspension Monday for his role in an on-field brawl that occurred in Saturday's game against the White Sox, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
MLB announced a six-game suspension for White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson, a three-game suspension for Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez, and one-game bans for Clase, Guardians manager Terry Francona, Guardians third base coach Mike Sarbaugh and White Sox manager Pedro Grifol after reviewing the incident. Anderson and Ramirez are both appealing their bans, while Clase and Francona will serve their one-game suspensions in Monday's series opener with the Blue Jays. Trevor Stephan (18 holds, two saves) has operated as the Guardians' top setup man for most of the season and would presumably be the top candidate to step in for Clase as the team's closer Monday if a save situation arises.

Clase (1-6) blew the save and took the loss in Sunday's 5-3 loss against the White Sox. He allowed three unearned runs on three hits while striking out three over an inning.
EDGE Analysis
After allowing a pair of singles to lead off the ninth inning, Clase struck out the next two White Sox as it appeared he would work out of the jam. However, a pair of errors allowed Chicago to tie the game 3-3 before Elvis Andrus drove in two more runs with a base hit, handing Clase and the Guardians a 5-3 loss. It's the first blown save for Clase since July 7 -- since then, he's thrown 10 innings without allowing an earned run, striking out 10 in that span. The 25-year-old right-hander is now 29-for-37 in save opportunities this season with a 2.84 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 47:13 K:BB across 50.2 innings.

Clase earned a saved over the Phillies on Saturday, striking out one batter in a perfect inning of work.
EDGE Analysis
In a game that featured very little offense, Clase was tasked with ensuring that a 1-0 lead held up for Cleveland in the ninth frame. The talented closer was up to the challenge, needing just seven pitches (six strikes) to retire the side in order. Clase went through a rocky stretch in late June and early July, but he's bounced back with five consecutive scoreless outings during which he's notched three saves and given up just one hit while posting a 5:1 K:BB over five innings.

Clase worked a perfect ninth inning Friday to record his 26th save of the season in a 6-5 win over the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander didn't walk or strike out a batter, instead relying on his dominant cutter -- he topped 100 mph with it five times among his 14 total pitches -- to generate weak contact. Clase has been more effective lately after some stumbles in the first couple months of the season, and since the beginning of June he's posted a 3.06 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 21:7 K:BB through 17.2 innings while converting nine of 11 save chances.

Clase walked one batter in a scoreless ninth inning Friday to record his 25th save of the season in a 3-0 win over the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander threw only three of nine pitches for strikes, but after walking Maikel Garcia with one out, Clase got Bobby Witt to ground into a game-ending double play. The Cleveland closer had given up runs in three straight appearances coming into Friday, and while he's tied with Alexis Diaz, Camilo Doval and Jordan Romano for the major-league lead in saves, Clase's seven blown saves are more than the other three combined.
