Covey is moving to the bullpen, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The White Sox set their rotation for the next four days and Covey is not on the list of projected starters. As anticipated, Covey is being replaced by top prospect Michael Kopech, who made his major-league debut Tuesday. Covey will likely pitch in long relief and be a spot starter if needed.

Covey (4-9) allowed six runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three over 2.2 innings to lose his fourth straight start in Sunday's 9-7 loss to Cleveland.
EDGE Analysis
Covey failed to last five innings for the third time in his last four starts. He pitched well for the White Sox when initially called up in May, but it's all gone south over his last 10 starts, in which he's posted an ungodly 9.13 ERA. Now would seem to be the time to call up prospect Michael Kopech to take Covey's spot in the rotation, but manager Rick Renteria told Brian Sandalow of the Chicago Sun-Times that he's not ready to make the call just yet. "(Pitching coach) Don (Cooper) and I will sit down but right now, until further notice, he's still in the rotation. If we need to make an adjustment, we will, I'm sure," Renteria said. "But we need him to continue to gain more experience in that starter's role." As of now, Covey is scheduled to make a second start this week Saturday at home against the Royals.

Covey (4-8) allowed four runs in seven hits and one walk across 6.1 innings en route to a loss Monday against the Yankees. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Covey retired the first nine batters he faced, but a pair of two-run rallies from the visitors in the fourth and fifth innings provided all the major damage done against him. He got ahead of 19 of 27 batters and threw 64 percent of his pitches for strikes, but he's now allowed four or more earned runs in eight of his last nine starts to bring his ERA to 5.58. Things won't get any easier for Covey, who's scheduled to face the Indians in his next turn this weekend.

Covey (4-7) took the loss Wednesday, allowing seven runs (four earned) on five hits and three walks while striking out one over 4.1 innings against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Chicago's fielding did Covey no favors, committing a pair of errors -- including one by the pitcher himself -- but it was still a rough outing for the 26-year-old nonetheless. It's the sixth time in his last eight starts with two or fewer strikeouts, and he's lasted longer than five innings just once in that span. Wednesday's showing ballooned his ratios to the tune of a 5.70 ERA and 1.57 WHIP, and his 51:33 K:BB through 72.2 innings doesn't offer much solace. He'll look to turn it around Monday against the Yankees.

Covey (3-4) took the loss Wednesday, allowing six runs on five hits and a walk while striking out two over 3.2 innings against the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Covey breezed through the first three innings, retiring all nine batters he faced to that point before the wheels feel off in the fourth on five singles, a walk and a hit by pitch. The 26-year-old has now given up at least four earned runs in four straight outings, seeing his ERA more than double in the process -- jumping from 2.29 to 5.54. The righty has also struggled with command in that stretch, striking out two or fewer in all four of those starts and is at 38:24 K:BB through 50.1 innings. He'll look to get back on track Tuesday against the Cardinals.

Covey (hip) will take the mound in Texas on Friday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Covey was forced to leave Saturday's start against Oakland due to right hip soreness but was able to toss a side session earlier this week without experiencing any problems. Over eight starts this year, he's posted a 3.45 ERA and 1.42 WHIP with a 36:20 K:BB.

Covey (hip) did not experience any issues while throwing a side session Tuesday and is on track to make his next scheduled start, James Fegan of The Athletic Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
The White Sox have not confirmed their starters for their upcoming series with the Rangers that begins Friday, but with Covey making it through Tuesday's workout without issue, he is on track to take the ball that day with an extra day of rest thanks to Monday's team off day.

Covey (hip) expects to throw a side session on Tuesday and may be able to start Friday's game in Texas, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
He left Saturday's start against the A's with right hip soreness, but said he felt better on Sunday. Assuming all goes well when he throws Tuesday, there's no reason to think he wouldn't make his next start, but given his limited upside and the uncertainty regarding this injury, he makes for a high-risk start in weekly leagues.

Covey exited Saturday's game against the Athletics with right hip soreness.
EDGE Analysis
Covey is considered day-to-day. Prior to suffering the injury, he was in the middle of a poor start, allowing four runs on four walks and a pair of hits, striking out just one batter in four innings. He did not factor into the decision. His next start was expected to come Friday against the Rangers, though the injury means that's currently up in the air.

EDGE Analysis
The White Sox released an announcement stating an update will come on his condition when more information is available. The right-hander was removed with a three-run lead by Chris Volstad. Expect an update within the coming hours.
