Granderson announced his retirement Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran calls it quits after a 16-year career spent with the Tigers, Yankees, Mets, Dodgers, Blue Jays, Brewers and Marlins. He'll finish with 344 homers, 153 steals and a .249/.337/.465 slash line (115 wRC+). The three-time All-Star leaves a strong legacy off the field as well, as evidenced by his four Marvin Miller Man of the Year Awards and his Roberto Clemente Award.

Granderson remains out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Brewers, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Granderson hasn't made a start since Aug. 21 and will likely be limited to a bench role the rest of the way for what might be his final big-league season. Through 343 plate appearances, the 38-year-old has posted a .643 OPS, by far the worst mark of his career in the category.

Granderson is out of the lineup for the first game of Monday's doubleheader with the Mets, Andre Fernandez of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Even with his main competition for a spot in the everyday lineup (Cesar Puello) heading to the injured list Monday, Granderson looks like he'll merely be a fourth or fifth outfielder for the rebuilding Marlins. Miami called up Lewis Brinson from Triple-A New Orleans in a corresponding move and will insert him into center field in the series opener, with Harold Ramirez and Brian Anderson flanking him in the outfield. The 25-year-old Brinson should be given every opportunity over the final two months of the season to tap into his considerable upside, likely leaving Granderson in store for only 1-to-3 starts most weeks.

Granderson will be on the bench Saturday against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Granderson has a poor .622 OPS in the second half, though that's not noticeably worse than the .630 mark he recorded prior to the All-Star break. Harold Ramirez will be the left fielder Saturday.

Granderson is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Marlins, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Granderson will rest for the afternoon game while Cesar Puello enters the lineup, joining Brian Anderson and Harold Ramirez in the outfield. Though he seems to have at least temporarily recaptured primary left-field duties from Puello, the 38-year-old Granderson will likely see his opportunities decline over the final two months of the season as the rebuilding Marlins prioritize at-bats for their younger options. With a .183/.270/.361 slash line across 285 plate appearances this season, Granderson looks to have little left in the tank at this point.

Granderson went 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI in Tuesday's loss to the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
The Marlins only managed four hits on the night, and Granderson had the team's only extra-base hits and RBI. The veteran outfielder's .638 OPS through 91 games is the worst mark of his career, but he might still attract some mild interest at the trade deadline from a contender looking for a battle-tested bench bat.

Granderson went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run Tuesday against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Granderson made his only hit of the night count as he took Dylan Covey deep in the fourth inning for his ninth home run of the season. With younger outfielders such as Harold Ramirez and Brain Anderson emerging for the team, Granderson has continued to see his role diminish. He hasn't done much to force the team's hand, as he's managed just a .181/.271/.363 line across 269 plate appearances for the season.

Granderson went 1-for-3 with a walk, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Friday's 8-4 win over the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran outfielder's third-inning blast, his eighth homer of the year, got the Marlins' offense rolling on the night. Granderson has started only four of the last 10 games and hadn't gone yard since June 12, and while Miami seems to value his presence in the locker room, expect him to be flipped to a contender looking for a left-handed bench bat by the trade deadline -- assuming anyone is interested in a 38-year-old with a .648 OPS.

Granderson remains on the bench Friday against the Phillies, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Granderson sits for the second game in a row and the fourth time in six games despite all six contests coming against righties. It would certainly make sense if his role continued to shrink, as the rebuilding Marlins have little reason to give playing time to a 38-year-old with a 68 wRC+. Harold Ramirez starts in left field.

Granderson is not in the lineup Thursday against the Cardinals, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Granderson is slashing just .182/.250/.318 with one home run through 15 games this month, so he'll sit for second time in three games as the Marlins go with an outfield consisting of Harold Ramirez, JT Riddle and Cesar Puello in this one.
