Granderson went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, his first of the spring, in Monday's Grapefruit League game against the Marlins.

EDGE Analysis

The Mets continue to launch homers like they're playing in the thin desert air of the Cactus League, with four different Opening Day starters going yard in this one. Granderson got off to a slow start this spring but has now found his batting stroke, collecting six hits in his last four games to push his batting average up to .280.

Granderson went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored in Wednesday's Grapefruit League game against the Red Sox.

EDGE Analysis

His spring got derailed a little by a thumb injury, but Granderson appears to be finding his batting stroke now. The 35-year-old is a batting average liability at this stage of his career, but he'll look to make it four straight seasons with at least 20 home runs in a Mets uniform in 2017.

Granderson (thumb) will bat leadoff and start in center field in Sunday's Grapefruit League game against the Cardinals, Matt Ehalt of The Record reports.

EDGE Analysis

Granderson jammed his thumb in a game Thursday, but with X-rays revealing no structural damage, all he needed was a couple of days off for the pain to subside. Don't expect him to face any further limitations during spring training.

Granderson (thumb) remained out of the lineup Friday, The New York Daily News reports.

EDGE Analysis

He tore a ligament in that same thumb in 2015, so the Mets will exercise caution with Granderson before letting him suit up again. The injury isn't serious, though, and he should be back in the lineup soon enough.

Granderson tore the nail on his right thumb making a catch in Thursday's spring game, but doctors found nothing else of concern, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

The issue didn't raise any caution flags until after the game, and even then, everyone seems fairly unconcerned about it all. It wouldn't be too surprising if the Mets decided to hold Granderson out of a game or two given the extended length of this year's spring training, so don't get worried if he isn't penciled into the lineup tomorrow. He'll likely be back to 100 percent by the beginning of next week.

Granderson will get consideration as the Mets' leadoff hitter this season on days when Jose Reyes isn't in the lineup, The New York Post reports.

EDGE Analysis

The veteran spent most of his time in 2016, and indeed throughout his career, hitting leadoff, but his .218/.317/.433 line last year in that slot wasn't exactly ideal for the top of the order. Granderson also hit .321/.440/.605 in 81 at-bats as the cleanup hitter, though, and his .854 career OPS while hitting fourth is his highest from any spot in the batting order, so despite manager Terry Collins' comfort with him coming to the plate first, the Mets might be better off keeping Granderson in the heart of the order this season.

The Blue Jays are expressing interest in possibly acquiring Grandson through a trade with the Mets, Jon Heyman reports.

EDGE Analysis

It's no secret the Jays are looking to add a left-handed bat to assume the leadoff role in their 2017 lineup. The Mets have a surplus of outfielders after Yoenis Cespedes agreed to a four-year, $110 million deal on Tuesday, making Granderson somewhat expendable. He'll enter his 13th MLB season at the age of 36, and Father Time appears to be chasing the veteran. Over Granderson's past three seasons in New York, he's hit .241 with a .799 OPS -- both of which are below his career averages of .255 and .814, respectively. Additionally, Granderson's four steals in 2016 was his lowest total in any season in which he's played 50-plus games.

Granderson went 3-for-4 with a double and three runs in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Phillies.

EDGE Analysis

The veteran slugger has considerably upped his OBP over the last week, with a six-game hitting streak and three multi-hit efforts over that span. Granderson has also reached the 30-homer mark for the first time since 2012 and his current .465 slugging percentage is his best since that season as well.

Granderson continued his recent hot, going 4-for-4 while reaching base on five of his plate appearances Wednesday against the Marlins.

EDGE Analysis

Granderson has now reached base 13 times in his last 21 plate appearances upping his on-base average to .331 on the season. In his last 30 games, Grandy has posted a .413 OBA and .630 SLG with 10 home runs and 25 runs batted in. Granderson is seeing time in center and right, but with Jay Bruce heating up, his playing time will come in center field during what is expected to be the final weekend of the season.

Granderson went 1-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored and a solo shot, his 30th home of the season, in Sunday's 17-0 rout of the Phillies.

EDGE Analysis

After struggling to find his power stroke in the first half, Granderson's pounded out 14 homers since the beginning of August to secure his fourth career 30-HR campaign and his first since 2012 with the Yankees.
