Maybin is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

EDGE Analysis

Maybin will ride the pine for the second time in three games, as manager A.J. Hinch goes with an outfield consisting of Marwin Gonzalez, Tony Kemp and George Springer (from left to right). While Maybin had a good game Tuesday, he's struggled mightily throughout most of September and may very well have played his way out of a postseason starting role.

Maybin went 2-for-4 with three runs, a triple, a homer, three RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's win over the Rangers.

EDGE Analysis

Maybin did a little bit of everything in the Astros' 14-3 rout of the Rangers. The 30-year-old came home on a triple and an error in his fifth inning "little-league home run" before blasting a more traditional three-run homer in the sixth. The speedy outfielder is hitting just .130 since being acquired by the Astros at the Aug. 31 deadline, but may be heating up at an opportune time as the A.L. West champs head into the postseason as legitimate title contenders.

Maybin is not in the lineup for Thursday' game against the Angels.

EDGE Analysis

Maybin has homered three times since joining the Astros but has just one hit otherwise in 30 at-bats, so he will open on the bench Thursday for the third time in four games.

Maybin entered Wednesday's game as a pinch hitter and went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run in a 5-3 win over the Seattle.

EDGE Analysis

It looks like Maybin is fitting in nicely with the Astros, homering in three of the last four games while providing late-game heroics the last two nights. His ninth-inning homer Wednesday and a seventh-inning shot Tuesday enabled the Astros to leave Seattle with a sweep. Maybin has appeared in five of six games since he was acquired by the Angels and figures to be in Houston's deep, productive lineup at least five games per week.

Maybin went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run during Sunday's win over the Mets.

EDGE Analysis

It's difficult to project Maybin's playing time moving forward, but he should see enough at-bats to remain a serviceable fantasy asset in most settings. Joining a high-octane offense could mitigate any dip in playing time, too. There is also the potential for Maybin to heat up and carve out a near-everyday role over the final weeks.

Maybin is starting in center field and hitting sixth in his Astros debut in Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Mets, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.

EDGE Analysis

George Springer is getting the nod at DH while Maybin patrols center, and while Springer will rarely DH going forward, it does sound like Maybin will be primarily deployed in center field. Unfortunately, the Astros' incredibly outfield depth will likely result in Maybin seeing slightly less playing time over the final month. He hit .235/.333/.351 with six home runs and 29 steals in 387 plate appearances with the Angels prior to the trade.

The Angels have agreed to trade Maybin to the Astros, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports.

EDGE Analysis

Justin Upton was brought in from Detroit and that essentially made Maybin expendable. Maybin has struggled to a .220/.292/.271 line (three extra-base hits) in 18 games since his return from a knee injury earlier this month, but he swiped 25 bags and got on base at nearly a .350 clip during the first half. He should be a steady presence in left field moving forward, but Maybin's playing time figures to take a slight hit with his new club as Derek Fisher will likely remain involved with occasional starts against right-handed pitching.

Maybin is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

EDGE Analysis

Maybin has started each of the team's past six games -- going 5-for-21 with three stolen bases during that stretch -- but he'll head to the bench for a breather. Ben Revere, who was previously unavailable due to a knee contusion, will draw the start in left field and bat leadoff.

Maybin returned to his usual spot atop the Angels' lineup Wednesday, going 1-for-4 with a run scored in a 7-5 loss to Texas.

EDGE Analysis

The 30-year-old has been dealing with knee stiffness this past week, limiting him to a bench role in five of the Halos' previous six games. His usual replacement, Ben Revere, is dealing with a knee injury of his own, so Maybin may not receive as many off days as initially expected going forward. The veteran outfielder is a solid source of steals (27 in 87 games) when he is on the field.

Maybin is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rangers.

EDGE Analysis

Maybin was held out of the starting lineup four times this past week as he was dealing with some knee stiffness. He re-entered the lineup for Monday's contest but will head back to the bench again Tuesday. Though nothing has been formally reported, it's likely that the speedy outfielder is still dealing with the ill-effects of his bothersome knee. Ben Revere will man left field and hit leadoff in his absence.
