Bogusevic signed a minor-league deal with Boston that includes an invitation to spring training, Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Bogusevic, a 2005 first-round pick by the Astros, played in Japan last season, hitting just .183 in 193 plate appearances for the Orix Buffaloes. The former pitcher, who transitioned to the outfield in 2008, last played in the majors during 2015 for the Phillies. For Boston, he's expected to serve as outfield depth at the Triple-A level.

Bogusevic was outrighted off the 40-man roster Monday.

EDGE Analysis

Bogusevic spent most of the season with Triple-A Lehigh, putting up a solid .296/.359/.424 line with 12 homers and 24 steals, but the Phillies will move forward in the offseason without the 31-year-old on the 40-man roster.

Bogusevic is out of the lineup Sunday against the Nationals, Robert Dawson of WNEW-AM reports.

EDGE Analysis

Bogusevic had started the last three games in right field for the Phillies, going 2-for-11 with five strikeouts. The 31-year-old doesn't present much upside at this stage of his career, so it wouldn't be surprising if the Phillies explored a younger option in right field over the final week of the season.

Bogusevic will get the start in right field and bat fifth in the order Tuesday, Ryan Lawrence of the Philadelphia Daily News reports.

EDGE Analysis

Bogusevic has hit well in a small sample size with the Phillies so far, (.321/.367.500 in 28 at-bats) but he could be in line for more opportunities at the plate if he produces against Marlins' starter Tom Koehler on Tuesday.

Bogusevic had his contract selected by the Phillies on Friday.

EDGE Analysis

Bogusevic performed well enough at Triple-A Lehigh Valley to earn his first major league appearance since 2013, batting .295/.360/.426 with 24 stolen bases and 12 home runs. The 31-year-old is basically organizational depth at this point in his career, but that could still mean some spot appearances in the outfield.

Bogusevic is hitting .327/.380/.437 with four home runs and seven stolen bases in 199 at-bats for Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Bogusevic might have had an opportunity in the majors with another club by now, but the Phillies have plenty of left handed hitters on their roster already. He could see time with the Phils later this summer if the team reworks its roster by trading off some veteran pieces as expected.

Bogusevic was reassigned to minor league camp Wednesday, The Morning Call reports.

Bogusevic stood an outside shot at grabbing a roster spot out of camp, but the performance of Rule 5 pick Odubel Herrera likely eliminated that possibility. He will no return to the minors, with little working in his favor in terms of a roster spot in the future.

Bogusevic hit two home runs in the Phillies win over the Marlins in Saturday's Grapefruit League game.

Bogusevic, who is 5-for-11 this spring, is in camp with the Phillies competing for a bench job. He will need to keep taking advantage of his opportunities to have a real shot at earning a roster spot.

Bogusevic signed a minor league contract with the Phillies on Saturday, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.

Boguesevic spent most of last season with in the Marlins organization with Triple-A New Orleans, batting .260/.349/.411 with six home runs and 33 RBI. His last major league action came with the Cubs in 2013. It wouldn't be surprising if the contract included an invite to spring training, but there was no indication of that in the report.
