Vizcaino allowed two hits and struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning as he notched his 15th save Sunday against San Diego.

EDGE Analysis

After entering the game in the ninth with a three-run lead, Vizcaino surrendered two hits before settling down to fan two hitters and escape with the save. He's been able to convert on eight straight save opportunities, and he hasn't allowed a run since May 15 against the Cubs.

Vizcaino allowed one hit in a scoreless ninth inning to record the save Thursday against the Padres.

EDGE Analysis

Vizcaino successfully converted his 13th save of the season after he was called upon in the ninth inning to preserve a two-run lead for the Braves. Despite allowing at least one baserunner in each of his past five appearances, he has now successfully converted his past six save chances and hasn't blown a save since May 15.

Vizcaino allowed one earned run on one hit and struck out one to record his seventh save of the season Sunday against the Marlins.

EDGE Analysis

Vizcaino entered the game in the ninth inning with Marlins on first and second base and allowed Justin Bour to take him deep for a three-run home run after retiring the first batter he faced. It was only the second home run he allowed this season, and his first since April 11. Despite consistent talk of A.J. Minter potentially taking over the closer role, Vizcaino remains locked in for now.

Vizcaino allowed one hit and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning Wednesday to collect his sixth save of the season in a 5-2 win over the Rays.

EDGE Analysis

After picking up only one save through April 24 and appearing to be in danger of falling into a timeshare at closer with A.J. Minter, Vizcaino has reeled off five saves in his last six appearances while lowering his ERA to 1.62. The 27-year-old is still walking too many batters, leaving him with a 17:10 K:BB through 16.2 innings, but as long as those free passes aren't coming back to haunt him, his spot in the ninth inning seems fairly secure.

Vizcaino worked around a hit and a walk in a scoreless inning to earn his fifth save of the season Tuesday against the Rays.

EDGE Analysis

Vizcaino made things interesting in a one-run game, allowing a pair of men to reach, but a timely double-play and a fortuitous foul out closed the door on the hosts. He's been particularly sharp of late, allowing just one earned run over his last 10 outings while recording all five of his save opportunities in that span. He'll look to keep it rolling for a much improved Atlanta squad.

Vizcaino allowed one earned run on two hits but still converted his fourth save of the season Tuesday against the Mets.

EDGE Analysis

Vizcaino ran into some trouble closing the game out, allowing two singles while also throwing a wild pitch to advance them on the bases. Regardless, he successfully held onto the lead and is now 4-for-5 in save chances this season with strong ratios and a solid strikeout rate. Since Brian Snitker said the closer role would be fluid, Vizcaino has the only two save opportunities for the team and has successfully converted them both.

Vizcaino allowed one hit and one walk in a scoreless inning against the Reds on Thursday to collect his second save of the season. He struck out one batter.

EDGE Analysis

Vizcaino was passed over for A.J. Minter in a save situation Wednesday, but he returned to the ninth inning Thursday and was able to work around a hit and a walk to get the job done. While manager Brian Snitker said he would be flexible with how he deploys Vizcaino and Minter in the ninth inning moving forward, VIzcaino owns an impressive 1.54 ERA through 11.2 innings this season, so he should still see a good amount of save chances when matchups are in his favor.

Vizcaino may not be the Braves' exclusive closer after manager Brian Snitker said Wednesday he was "flexible" in how he'd approach the ninth inning, Gabriel Burns of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

EDGE Analysis

A.J. Minter got his first career save Wednesday, and it seems like Snitker has no problem turning to the young left-hander with the game on the line. In a division with Bryce Harper, Jay Bruce and other dangerous left-handed bats, Vizcaino could find himself ceding more save opportunities to Minter as the season progresses, putting a dent in his fantasy value.

Vizcaino worked around a hit and used a strikeout to record a scoreless inning for his first save Monday against the Phillies.

EDGE Analysis

Vizcaino has had just two save opportunities despite Atlanta's nine wins this season, and he blew the first chance. He owns a 2.35 ERA but has been wild at times, with six walks in 6.2 innings. The talent is obvious for Vizcaino, who already has nine strikeouts, but the question is if he can be consistent enough to succeed as closer.

Vizcaino blew his first save of the season Wednesday against the Nationals, allowing one run on two hits in one inning of work.

EDGE Analysis

Vizcaino started off strong, getting Anthony Rendon to groundout on the first pitch of the inning, but a misplaced fastball to the next batter, Matt Adams, resulted in a game-tying roundtripper. He wasn't necessarily sharp thereafter, conceding a single to Michael Taylor and allowing him to advance to third on an errant pickoff throw and a wild pitch, but the 27-year-old was ultimately able to escape the inning with the score still tied, leaving the Braves in position to win the game in extra innings. Vizcaino should still have a solid handle on the ninth inning, but his margin for error could be dwindling with A.J. Minter excelling in a setup role ahead of him.
