Cardinals activated OF/1B Allen Craig from the 15-day disabled list.
As expected. Craig, who had offseason knee surgery, will likely start out by playing first base until Lance Berkman returns from the disabled list. He doesn't have a clear path to playing time if the Cardinals' have all their regulars in place, but we still think he'll end up being pretty useful in fantasy leagues.

Allen Craig went 1-for-4 with a pair of RBI on Friday in his rehab start for Triple-A Memphis.
Craig again served as the DH in this one, but will soon progress to playing first base and finally to the outfield. Assuming no setbacks, he's expected to rejoin the Cardinals at some point next week.

Allen Craig (knee) went 2-for-5 as the DH Thursday in his first rehab game with Triple-A Memphis.
Craig was able to leg out an infield hit, which is a good sign for his surgically-repaired knee. He is scheduled to DH again Friday and will likely need to play a couple of games in the field before coming off the disabled list. Look for him to make his way back to the Cards at some point next week.

Allen Craig (knee) is scheduled to shift his rehab assignment to Triple-A Memphis on Thursday.
It's another step in the right direction for Craig, who has been on the disabled list since the start of the regular season due to his ongoing recovery from offseason knee surgery. The 27-year-old corner infielder should be ready to join the Cardinals' bench (or perhaps starting lineup) by early next week.

Craig is getting his second start in the DH slot Monday and singled in his first at-bats. Assuming he can get through playing in the field without any issues, he could be back with the Cards by the end of the month.

Allen Craig (knee) homered Saturday in his first at-bat for High-A Palm Beach Saturday in his first rehab game.
He finished the day 1-for-3 as Palm Beach's DH. He's expected to remain in the DH slot for a few more days before giving it a go in the outfield. The Cardinals think Craig could be ready for activation before the end of the month.

Allen Craig (knee) could be ready to begin a rehab assignment by the end of next week.
Craig has started taking at-bats in extended spring training and is expected to start playing the field by next Tuesday. If that goes well, he'll then likely head to Triple-A Memphis a few days after that. Assuming he progresses as scheduled, a return in early May is likely.

The Cardinals are optimistic that Allen Craig (knee) will return to game action by the end of the week.
Craig recently returned to the team's complex in Florida after receiving treatment on his surgically-repaired knee in St. Louis. He'll likely be eased back into action in extended spring training games before beginning an official minor league rehab assignment. The Cards are being extra careful with his rehab after he experienced some swelling in his knee during a minor league game toward the end of spring training, so we could be looking at a return in early May at this point.

Craig has spent the past couple of weeks in St. Louis, getting special treatment on his surgically-repaired knee.
