Aaron Sanchez Turns In Another Strong Start Thursday rotoballer.com Fri 4/23/21 11:30 AM
San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Aaron Sanchez earned his first win as a Giant in Thursday's 3-0 win over the Marlins. Sanchez pitched five scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and no walks with two strikeouts. The 28-year-old had looked solid in his first four starts with the Giants, posting a 1.83 ERA, a 1.02 WHIP, and a 17.5% strikeout rate. While it is still early, Sanchez is looking like the fantasy-relevant pitcher he was in the beginning of his career. Rostered in just 10 ...
Aaron Sanchez Takes Tough Loss Monday rotoballer.com Tue 4/13/21 1:01 PM
San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Aaron Sanchez fell to 0-1 in Monday's 3-0 loss to the Reds. Sanchez pitched pretty well, allowing two runs on three hits (including a two-run home run) and a walk with three strikeouts over five innings. However, his offense couldn't provide him with any run support. Both of Sanchez's starts have been encouraging this season and he will carry a 2.70 ERA into his next matchup at the Marlins. Rostered in just four percent of leagues, Sanchez is worth keeping ...
Aaron Sanchez Makes Strong Debut Tuesday rotoballer.com Wed 4/7/21 2:00 PM
San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Aaron Sanchez had a nice first start with his new team in Tuesday's 1-3 loss to the Padres. Sanchez pitched five innings, allowing a single run on six hits and no walks with four strikeouts. It was Sanchez's first start since 2019, so it was nice to see the strong outcome. He will next face a relatively tough matchup against the Reds at home. Fantasy managers in deeper leagues should keep an eye on Sanchez, as he could be worth a roster spot if he can truly...
Aaron Sanchez To Be Fifth Starter In Giants Rotation rotoballer.com Tue 3/30/21 5:49 PM
San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Aaron Sanchez will slot into the team's starting rotation as the number-five starter to begin the 2021 season. The 28-year-old has had a promising start to his career but saw a decrease in performance over the last several seasons and has not pitched since 2019. He has not pitched well this spring (7.94 ERA, 1.94 WHIP), but only has 5 2/3 innings of work as he has ramped up for the season. Sanchez is an intriguing pitcher for the Giants and fantasy managers...
Giants Sign Aaron Sanchez rotoballer.com Wed 2/17/21 11:28 AM
The San Francisco Giants have signed right-handed pitcher Aaron Sanchez to a one-year deal worth $4 million plus incentives, per the San Francisco Chronicle's Susan Slusser. The 28-year-old reportedly touched 98 mph on his fastball during a recent bullpen session. Sanchez once held fantasy intrigue but was plagued by injuries and poor performance over the past several seasons, which did not include 2020. Consequently, Sanchez has not been drafted at all in fantasy leagues this season. However, ...
Aaron Sanchez Has Thrown For Multiple Teams rotoballer.com Tue 11/10/20 10:08 PM
Free-agent right-hander Aaron Sanchez (shoulder) has thrown for multiple teams recently, according to his agent, Scott Boras. Boras also said that Sanchez's fastball is averaging between 2,700 and 2,800 rpm. "He'll be a starting pitcher (in 2020)," Boras said. Sanchez missed all of 2020 while recovering from right shoulder surgery. His four-seamer and sinker were sitting in the 2,200-2,300 rpm range back in 2019. Sanchez is still only 28 years old and has a 3.98 ERA in his career, but he's had a...
Kyle Bishop's 10 Bold Predictions for 2020 rotoballer.com Wed 3/4/20 9:00 AM
This will be my sixth season with RotoBaller, and consequently, my sixth time participating in this bold predictions series. Over that time, I've amassed a fairly strong record with bold predictions, generally clocking in with a success rate of 30 percent. I correctly predicted Bryce Harper's MVP campaign in 2015 and Kirby Yates leading the league in saves last season, and in between had a nice run in calling starting pitcher busts (Julio Teheran, Sonny Gray, and Aaron Sanchez in successive ...
Astros Non-Tendering Aaron Sanchez rotoballer.com Mon 12/2/19 5:15 PM
The Houston Astros are non-tendering starting pitcher Aaron Sanchez (shoulder), according to a source. It's not a surprise, however, given that Sanchez is expected to miss the beginning of the 2020 regular season after having shoulder surgery in September. The right-hander continues to be hurt by injuries and up-and-down performances in the big leagues. Sanchez posted an ugly 5.89 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 115 strikeouts in 27 starts for the Blue Jays and Astros last year. Fantasy owners will want to ...
Aaron Sanchez To Have Season Ending Surgery rotoballer.com Thu 9/5/19 8:31 PM
Houston Astros starting pitcher Aaron Sanchez will have surgery on his pitching shoulder and will be shut down for the rest of the season. It's a tough blow for the former AL-ERA champ who has been unable to stay healthy for the past couple of seasons and may not be ready for the start of 2020 after this procedure. The Astros will provide an update after the surgery, but Sanchez can be safely be dropped everywhere except dynasty leagues.
Aaron Sanchez Done For Season rotoballer.com Thu 9/5/19 1:22 PM
Houston Astros starting pitcher Aaron Sanchez (shoulder) will undergo surgery next week, which will end his season. Sanchez was brilliant in his first two starts for Houston but had allowed nine earned runs in his last 7 2/3 innings before being placed on the injured list. Framber Valdez has started twice in his absence and should continue to fill in for Sanchez down the stretch, but he is a risky option, at best, and doesn't deserve much fantasy consideration.
