Assigning Keepers

Bergen73 12 Months

To start the email draft I am required to clear all rosters of non-keepers. Since we are playing a full dynasty league all players are keepers and the owners have not bothered to designate them as such. How can start the email draft without clearing any player off any roster? Alternatively, how can I designate every player on a roster as a keeper?

I have increased the roster size to allow for the extra players to be drafted, and will force a roster cut later in the summer to return to our in-season roster limits.

Thanks

You can start the email draft without taking any players off by doing the following:

Go into Commish Options>Edit Rosters>Make one change to each roster as the system needs to trigger a change in a team (I remove one player off each team and make note of this player removed>Click these are the keepers only>submit

then I go back to Commish Options>Edit Rosters>Add the player you took off to each team the same way you removed them>After theyre added, these are the keepers only... The system will then pin all the keepers, you can then go back to Commish Options and hit These are the complete rosters but still draft this season

Let me know if this sounds good

This didn't work for me... I removed a player from each team, clicked "these are the keepers only", submit... Went back in and added the players again, clicked these are the keepers only, submit...

It only designated the players i removed and then added as keepers, instead of selecting the entire team as keepers.

Did I do something wrong?

Thanks

Welcome to Fleaflicker, what league are you referring to and are you trying to set all of them as keepers? We'll look into it.

I am doing it on the "test" league. Yes, I want to set every player as a keeper, then I'll increase the roster limits so another email draft can be held without having to cut players. Then cut down rosters later.

(This league is a test league I'm using to learn about the system rather than learning the hard way on my real league, not sure if that is what's causing the problem or not)

Thank you again

Thanks, this might have to do with new deployment as I'm seeing an issue here as well. We'll get it fixed for you today. We'll keep you updated and our apologies.

I don't think we are currently capable of doing that. I am the commissioner of a dynasty league and what I do is simply set a keeper deadline. Our deadline is at midnight tonight and I have emailed a reminder every day this week. If people didn't set their keepers that is just too bad. I have tried what you are planning in the past, and if deadlines are set people just didn't care and nothing ever got done. Then you can't reset roster maximums later on because the site won't allow it unless every team is at or below that maximum. Then you have one more thing to harp on the whole league about. It is much easier as commissioner to enforce deadlines than to try to be on everyone's case about it all. Take it from me who made the same mistake last year.

I am not an expert, or an authority, just speaking from experience friend. Take from it what you will.

I like your approach. However, I find a roster cut-down date at the beginning of September is easier to work with. I can publisize my criteria for cutting (i.e lowerest ranked non-critical back-up) so if the teams have not conformed to the roster limtiations on time, I can easily cut their rosters. This way there is no risk of somone losing Aaron Rodgers due to over-sight.
