Offseason Waivers

Jim_Hart 4/21/2012

Is there a way to prevent any offseason waiver adds? Drops are fine, but we don't want any owner picking up free agents.

  • It is against Fleaflicker's terms of service to post offensive material.

Yes, there will be functionality to support this any day when we roll out the transaction limits live. I will follow up on this thread and tell you how to do it. You will be able to set a 0 transaction limit for adds for the season, it won't let you add anyone, but it will let you drop.

Thanks.

So will there still be transaction limits added as mentioned above?

They are in place at Commish Options->Edit Transaction Rules. We are still working on:

1) developing a weekly limit manually instead of going by the fantasy week of games (we have it set for 1 per day in a fantasy week).

2) the above also affects how you will run them if you're doing weekly limits in the offseason. because there are 0 games, there are 0 adds, but it seems like it won't be an issue for you there if you have a seasonal limit.

3) adds are counting, but we need to also have claims count towards the limit too.

4) we'd like to develop a system where the commish can manually adjust the number of transactions.

We're working on resolving all four.

I see nothing under Edit Transaction Rules that allows me to prevent owners from making off-season adds, (which was my initial question). The transaction limits section doesn't appear to have any option to do this. So in fact, the answer is still "no, we haven't added anything to solve this issue", yes?

It's there -- fleaflicker.com -- lock free agents during preseason. You have it set to yes and waivers to run, so you will run waivers on Wednesday, once a week during the preseason for adds and claims (a bit different than the regular season behavior of when adds are first-come, first-served, after they run and no one is claimed.

But that doesn't prevent owners from making off-season adds. They can still put in waiver requests and be awarded a player(s). For this to work I have to be able to turn off waivers also and I see no way to do that.

Nevermind, I figured it out. It requires two different rule changes to affect what I want.

The explanation with the free agent lockout option should mention that it supersedes the FCFS setting under Waiver Wire Rules, thus effecting a complete lockout of all players. Currently it is not clear at all.

It is a function of the system we have in, in case a player is hurt during a preseason game and we don't lock preseason games. Hope you understand and thanks
