Pavelec stopped 32 of 33 through 65 minutes of action, then two of three in the shootout to come away with a 2-1 victory against the Blues on Thursday.

A big victory for Pavelec and the Jets, coming as it did against the currently second-seeded Blues, whom Winnipeg could very well face in the first round of the playoffs. Pavelec's now started three straight games, winning all three while allowing a grand total of four goals. He's playing some of his best hockey at a point in time when his team needs it the most.

Pavelec is slated to start Thursday's contest against the Blues, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.

With Pavelec having looked sharp (53 saves on 56 shots) over his last two starts, both wins, the Jets will stick with him for the third straight outing. He'll be facing a Blues' squad that is coming off back-to-back shutout victories, over the Stars on Sunday and the Flames on Tuesday.

Pavelec made 38 saves on 40 shots in Tuesday's 5-2 victory over San Jose.

A sparkling outing for Pavelec, and a reminder of just what he's capable of doing when things are going right. But despite Pavelec's strong showing in his last four games (two starts), he remains wildly inconsistent, and his mediocre season stats reflect that.

Jets coach Paul Maurice said Tuesday that he will continue to ride the hot hand between Pavelec and Michael Hutchinson, Paul Friesen of the Winnipeg Sun reports.

Michael Hutchinson made eight consecutive starts from Feb. 21 to March 12, but Pavelec is slated for a second straight start Tuesday night against the Sharks. While it seems Pavelec has overtaken Hutchinson as the team's top goaltender, one bad outing could easily switch things back. Pavelec stopped 15-of-16 shots in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Lightning.

Pavelec is slated to start Tuesday's game against the Sharks, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.

Pavelec, who backstopped the Jets to a 2-1 victory over the Lightning on Saturday, will draw his second straight start for the team on Tuesday, this time around against a San Jose squad coming off a 6-2 loss to Chicago on Saturday.

Pavelec made 15 saves for the Jets in a 2-1 victory over the Lightning on Saturday night.

He made a few solid saves, but he's still the Jets' number two option. Consider him on a spot-start basis only.

Pavelec will be in the net Saturday against the Lightning, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.

With coach Paul Maurice tapping Michael Hutchinson for the previous the previous eight starts in the net, Pavelec has seems to have settled into a firm No. 2 role for the Jets. Hutchinson has fallen back to earth after a spectacular first half, but Pavelec isn't likely to make much of a push for reclaiming the regular starting gig. He's been only so-so this season, posting a 2.56 GAA and .910 save percentage over 38 outings, and shouldn't be viewed as a strong spot-start option against a Lightning squad that leads the league in goals per game.

Pavelec stopped 19 of 20 shots Tuesday in relief of Michael Hutchinson, but was stuck with the losing decision in a 5-4 defeat at the hands of the Blues.

Tough luck for Pavelec, who helped Winnipeg mount a spirited comeback from a 4-1 deficit to tie the game, only to give up the game-winning goal to the offensively challenged Barret Jackman with 1:03 remaining in the third period. Still, he held strong even while the Jets took a parade of third-period penalties. With Hutchinson's recent struggles, Pavelec should get a chance to start again in the near future -- perhaps Thursday in Florida.

Pavelec came in to relieve Michael Hutchinson in the second period of Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Senators.

The relief appearance marked Pavelec's first action since Feb 19, and he stopped all three of the shots he faced. His save percentage is still just .909 on the season, so he's not expected to steal any regular playing time away from the starter, Hutchinson.

Pavelec was tagged for four goals on 32 shots Thursday in a 5-1 loss to Washington.Pavelec's struggles continue, as he's on his second straight month of GAA over 3.00, and his save percentage in five February games (four starts) is a meager .894. Michael Hutchinson hasn't impressed lately either, but Pavelec has done nothing to earn himself a greater share of the playing time.
