Oduya has increased the intensity of his workouts in recent days, but he's still being held out of full practices with the rest of the team. If he continues to progress with his skating over the weekend, it's conceivable that he could be activated from IR at some point next week.

He left the ice at 2:34 of the first period and went to the locker room shortly afterward. He did not return to the game. "We'll know more tomorrow," Hawks' coach Joel Quenneville said. "We'll see how he is. Upper body, but we'll see. Might miss a few [games]." Oduya has two goals, three assists and is a minus-9 in 60 games this season. He is one of nine Blackhawks not to miss a game this season.

Oduya practiced fully Thursday, eliminating any concerns about the injury to his foot that he sustained Tuesday night while blocking a shot. The blueliner has just two points and a minus-2 rating while playing in all 16 of the Blackhawks' games this season.

Oduya was injured late in Tuesday's win over the Lightning, but his return to practice suggests his ailment isn't particularly serious. If he's able to take part in pairing work during Friday's morning skate, there's a good chance he'll be available later that night against the Red Wings.
