Bieksa will sign a one-day contract with the Canucks on Nov. 3 for their game against Anaheim for the purpose of retiring a Canuck.
EDGE Analysis
The decision to coincide his retirement with a contest versus the Ducks is intentional. While he logged 597 of his 808 career NHL games with Vancouver, he spent his final three seasons with Anaheim.

Bieksa (finger) continues to train with hopes of signing a contract with a team close to his home in California, Dan Murhpy of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bieksa spent the last three years of his career in Anaheim, but one would think that he'd at least be in Ducks camp on a PTO by now if he was staying put. Given his short list of preferred teams, and how he's stated that his family will remain in California regardless of where he ends up, it's also conceivable that the 37-year-old will ultimately decide to hang up his skates for good.

Bieksa indicated Saturday that he ruptured a tendon in his finger during a fight with Radko Gudas, which resulted in him missing time at the end of the season, Eric Stephens of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bieksa played just one game from March 14 on, missing 15 of the Sharks' final 16 contests. His availability for 2018-19 is unlikely to be impacted by the issue, but the 36-year-old blueliner is set to hit the open market. It remains to be seen how much longer he intends to play, but Bieksa has dropped off the fantasy radar in recent seasons, never topping 15 points in any of the last four.

Bieksa (hand) will return to the lineup for Game 2 against the Sharks on Saturday, Eric Stephens of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Although Bieksa didn't return for Game 1, Korbinian Holzer's placement on waivers ahead of the contest suggested Bieksa was close. No longer listed on IR, it appears Bieksa will slot back into a Ducks lineup that failed to beat Martin Jones once during the series opener. Bieksa likely won't change that given his eight points -- all assists -- over 59 games during the regular season, but a shakeup may pay dividends.

Bieksa (hand) isn't in the lineup for Thursday's Game 1 against San Jose.
EDGE Analysis
Bieksa was a full participant in Monday's practice and is clearly nearing a return to the lineup, but he'll have to wait for Saturday's Game 2 for his next opportunity to do so. Andy Welinski will continue to skate in a bottom-pairing role until Bieksa is given the green light to return.

Bieksa (hand) was a full participant in Monday's practice and could suit up for Thursday's Game 1 against San Jose, Lisa Dillman of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Originally given a 2-5 week timeline for a return during mid-March, Thursday would put Bieksa right around four weeks into his recovery. The Ducks will likely provide further information on Bieksa's status as the week progresses, though after posting just eight points and a minus-13 rating in 59 games this season, he shouldn't be given serious consideration for fantasy lineups.

Bieksa will have surgery on his left hand to remove scar tissue and is expected to miss 2-5 weeks.
EDGE Analysis
With such a wide range of when Bieksa could return to action, it's too early to tell is he will play in any more regular-season contests or if he will need the Ducks to make an extended playoff run in order to suit up again this year. Marcus Pettersson should get the first crack at replacing Bieksa in the lineup, while the team promoted Korbinian Holzer to provide additional blue line depth.

Bieksa recorded an assist during Sunday's 6-3 win over Chicago.
EDGE Analysis
The helper was just the seventh of the season for Bieksa, and it's also worth noting that he's been a healthy scratch in four of the past eight games. His recent inconsistent playing time and lack of offense have him off the fantasy radar in most settings. However, he continues to provide solid numbers in the PIM (81), hit (108) and blocked shot (71) columns.

Bieksa has failed to register a point in 15 consecutive games after missing the scoresheet during Tuesday's 4-3 overtime win against Buffalo.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran's lack of offense has significantly limited his fantasy appeal in recent seasons, and he's also posted a minus-7 rating during his active 15-game point drought. While Bieksa continues to offer some peripheral coverage with 74 PIM, 91 hits and 65 blocked shots through 49 games, those numbers still aren't serviceable in many settings.

Bieksa recorded seven shots through 20:32 of ice time during Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
After recording just seven shots through his first nine December games, Tuesday's showing was definitely an out-of-nowhere uptick in shot volume from the veteran. As it stands, Bieksa is a low-end fantasy asset with just four assists, 30 shots and a minus-9 rating through 29 games. He can probably still help in cavernous settings including PIM (55) and hits (50), though.
