Neal (lower body) skated with Mike Fisher and Colin Wilson at Monday's practice, NHL.com's Robby Stanley reports.

More on Neal's status as Tuesday's game against the Canucks approaches, but Monday's practice participation bodes well for his chances of suiting up for the contest.

Neal (lower body) will not return to action Saturday against the Wild, Eric Stromgren of The Tennessean reports.

Despite practicing Friday, Neal will not be accompanying the Predators for the trip to Minnesota. Instead, he'll continue to skate on his own Saturday before likely rejoining the team for practice Sunday. Neal looks on track to return to the lineup Tuesday versus the Canucks.

Neal (lower body) is practicing Friday, Eric Stromgren of the Tennessean reports.

Neal has missed the last four games, and while he was recently placed on injured reserve, he's still eligible to return for Saturday's contest in Minnesota. The return to practice is a sign of progress, so Neal may stand a chance to play in Tuesday's game against the Canucks, even if he ends up missing Saturday's game.

Neal (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Thursday.

The Predators have not provided much in terms of details regarding Neal's status, but his placement on injured reserve rules him out for a fourth straight game Thursday. He will be eligible to return at any point having already been out more than a week, but it remains to be seen how much longer he will be sidelined.

Neal (lower body) appears set to miss Tuesday's game against the Hurricanes.

Neal remained off the ice for the Preds' morning skate, suggesting he'll head to the press box for a third straight contest. The team appears to be viewing the winger as day-to-day, but his inability to skate for nearly a week would seem to suggest otherwise. He'll need to show some signs of progress quickly in order to avoid landing on IR.

Neal (lower body) is not playing in Sunday's game against the Ducks.

Neal will miss a second straight game, marking just his third absence of the season. He ranks fifth on the Predators with 23 points, but he leads the team in both shots on goal (118) and penalty minutes (37).

Neal (lower body) will sit out Saturday's game against the Kings, Dennis Bernstein of The Fourth Period reports.

Neal's status for Saturday's game was in some question after he missed Friday's practice, and it looks like the Predators will err on the side of caution by resting him. The winger previous missed a game due to illness, but has otherwise been a picture of health in his first season with the Predators. With Neal unavailable, look for both of Saturday's call-ups, Viktor Stalberg and Miikka Salomaki, to enter the lineup.

Neal is dealing with a lower-body injury, putting his status in question for Saturday's game against the Kings, Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider reports.

Neal missed Friday's practice with what was described as a maintenance day, but it sounds like he might have tweaked something during Tuesday's game against the Blues. His availability for Saturday likely won't be known until the Predators hold their pregame warmups 30 minutes before the 4:00 ET puck drop.

Neal found twine twice Monday -- once on the power play -- in a 5-4 shootout loss to the Blackhawks.

That's 13 goals and 23 points in 34 games for the volume shooter, who's also fired a whopping 115 shots on goal, good for 19th most in the league. The former Penguin has produced heartily in other categories as well (plus-14, 37 PIM), making him a must-roll in all formats. Furthermore, it looks like life without Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby isn't so bad after all, as the Predators are getting plenty of offensive production from Filip Forsberg, Mike Ribeiro and Shea Weber, among others.

Neal registed an assist and spent 14 minutes in the penalty box in Tuesday's loss to the Bruins.

The 14 penalty minutes represent more than a third of Neal's total for the season (37). He's shown in the past that he can be somewhat useful in that category, but it's Neal's contributions as a scorer that will drive his fantasy value. He's doing that at a respectable clip this season with 21 points in 32 games, but the disappearance of his power-play production (just two points on the season) has sunk his value a bit. He was a force on the man advantage with the Penguins in 2013-14, netting 11 goals and assisting on 15 others.
