James Neal denied the rumors that he's requesting a trade.

"I love being a Pittsburgh Penguin. I hope to remain a Penguin and win as a Penguin," Neal said. He signed a six-year, $30 million contract with Pittsburgh that will take him through the 2017-18 campaign, which is a pretty appealing cap hit given that he's averaged about a point-per-game over the last three seasons.

Neal found the back of the net just 33 seconds after Chris Kunitz in the first period. Neal had 27 goals and 61 points in 59 regular season contests, but he was held off the scoresheet in the first three games of the playoffs.

James Neal registered two goals for the Penguins in a 4-3 shootout win over Detroit Wednesday.

Despite playing an abbreviated schedule due to injury, the Pittsburgh forward has tallied 26 times on the season, 11 of which have come with the man advantage. Jussi Jokinen was the other goal scorer for the Pens in the victory.

James Neal's overtime winning goal Saturday was his first marker in eight games.

Neal has been in a scoring slump and needed a breakout type of goal. He seemed to get it against the Lightning Saturday. Of Neal, linemate Evgeni Malkin had the following to say: "He was so mad. He had lots of scoring chances, but didn't score. It was a big goal for him." The goal also tied a Penguin record. It was Neal's third overtime winner of the season tying him with Colby Armstrong, Sidney Crosby, Ryan Malone Aleksey Morozov and Jaromir Jagr for the franchise record.
