Mitchell (arm) could play Tuesday against the Predators.

Mitchell has been sidelined since last Tuesday with the arm injury, but was expected to miss two weeks. A return Tuesday would put him a week ahead of schedule, but hasn't been ruled out at this point. His status should be updated at some point Tuesday as the opening face-off nears.

The Canadiens announced Tuesday that Mitchell would miss about two weeks with a right arm injury, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Mitchell will be evaluated by doctors in Montreal later this week to receive more definitive word on his injury, but it looks like his next game won't come until at least April. The bottom-six forward, who was acquired from the Sabres prior to the trade deadline, was held without a point in his first six games with the Canadiens.

The Sabres traded Mitchell to Montreal on Monday in exchange for a prospect and a draft pick, TSN.ca reports.

Mitchell, who has notched 13 points in 51 games for the Sabres to date, will boost the Habs' depth up front, but he's not likely to make a significant fantasy impact with his new club. The 30-year-old pivot is eligible to eligible to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

Mitchell potted a pair of goals and went plus-4 Thursday in a 6-3 win over Vancouver.

Mitchell hadn't found the back of the net since way back on Nov. 22, a three-month span. There's not much fantasy upside to be found here, as he has just 12 points, and even his production in hits and blocks is fairly modest.
