Bergenheim (lower body) will remain out of the lineup Tuesday against the Kings, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

As coach Gerard Gallant has seemingly been suggesting for the last week, Bergenheim is "very close" to a return, but won't be given the go-ahead to play despite an existing opening in the Panthers' lineup. Though Aleksander Barkov will sit Tuesday with an illness, it appears fresh call-up Rocco Grimaldi will enter the lineup in his place instead. Bergenheim, who tweaked a core muscle a few weeks ago, said he expects to play at 100 percent health the rest of the season once he makes his return, which could come Thursday against the Sharks.

Bergenheim (lower body) was on the ice for Tuesday's optional skate but remains questionable to play later in the evening against the Kings, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

It appears that Bergenheim is healthy and ready to play at this point, but coach Gerard Gallant has been hesitant to make any adjustments to his lineup with the Panthers playing their best hockey of the season. If Gallant does decide to chance things up, Bergenheim would likely enter the lineup in place of Vincent Trocheck, who could be at risk of a demotion to AHL San Antonio.

Bergenheim (lower body) is not expected to play in Friday's game against the Islanders, according to George Richards of the Miami Herald.

Bergenheim (lower body) is on track to play Friday against the Islanders, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Bergenheim returned to practice Tuesday after missing the previous five games with the lower-body injury. The winger has seen his usage decline under first-year coach Gerard Gallant, with his ice time falling nearly three minutes from a season earlier. He should be a regular skater for the Panthers now that he's healthy, but his presence in a more limited role won't aid his production.

Bergenheim (lower body) took part in Tuesday's optional skate, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Bergenheim will remain out for the fifth straight game on Tuesday, but his resumption of on-ice activities could put him on track to return to action Friday versus the Islanders. The Panthers opted not to move Bergenheim to injured reserve while he's dealt with the lower-body ailment, so the team won't have to make a roster move to facilitate his return.

Bergenheim could find himself back in the Panthers lineup as soon as Friday when they face the Islanders,George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.

The 30-year old Fin has missed the last four games due to the lower body injury and will miss Tuesday's game against the Sharks as well. Bergenheim was playing with Aleksander Barkov and Brad Boyes on the top line before he sustained the injury so expect him to get a shot on the same line when he returns to action later this week.

Bergenheim (lower body) didn't travel with the Panthers to Boston and will miss his third consecutive game Thursday, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.

Bergenheim has yet to resume practicing since suffering the injury Oct. 30 and looks like he could be a candidate for injured reserve if he fails to make progress in the coming days.

Bergenheim will not play Saturday against the Flyers, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.

It looks like Thursday's home victory over the Coyotes cost the Panthers a trio of players, as all of Bergenheim, Aleksander Barkov and Brandon Pirri will be unable to play Saturday after suffering injuries in the previous contest. The Panthers haven't said anything definitely regarding the nature nor severity of Bergenheim's injury.
