Marchand scored a goal and racked up 14 minutes worth of penalties Tuesday against the Lightning.

This game ended with some scuffling in the final seconds, which resulted in a 10-minute misconduct for Marchand, though it's hard to figure out quite what he did to earn the penalty. Nonetheless, his fantasy owners will take it, as the big effort pushed him to 12 goals, 24 points, 60 PIM and a plus-10 rating on the season. There's room for that sort of production in most fantasy lineups.

The Bruins reassigned Seth Griffith to clear a roster spot for Marchand, who hasn't been in the lineup since Nov. 15. Marchand skated Monday morning, but it looks like his status for the Bruins' evening tilt won't be clarified before pre-game warmups. With Marchand, David Krejci and Chris Kelly all banged up, the Bruins recalled forwards Jordan Caron and David Pastrnak in advance of Monday's contest.

Marchand (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve Saturday.

The retroactive placement on IR doesn't change Marchand's situation much, as he'll be eligible to return to action at any point after Saturday's game since he last played Nov. 15. The Bruins continue to view him as day-to-day, but moving him to IR will at least allow the Bruins to bring a healthy forward into the lineup.
