MacArthur (illness) was back at practice Friday, Steve Lloyd of TSN.ca reports.

The flu forced MacArthur out of Thursday's game against the Kings, but it seems like the night off was exactly what he needed to regain stamina. He should be ready to go for Saturday's game in Boston.

MacArthur (illness) is doubtful to play Thursday against the Kings, Steve Lloyd of TSN 1200 reports.

Coach Dave Cameron officially labeled MacArthur as a game-time decision, but because the winger missed the team's morning skate with the flu, he'll likely sit out barring a swift recovery in the afternoon. It would mark the first game MacArthur has missed this season, with Zach Smith expected to take his spot in the lineup.

MacArthur potted his eighth goal of the season in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Flames.

MacArthur has recorded a point in three consecutive games, bringing his total to 13 over 17 games on the season. He hasn't enjoyed a run of truly eye-popping production during any stretch of the season thus far, but his consistency might be a more appreciated quality by his fantasy owners.

MacArthur supplied an empty-net goal in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Red Wings.

While Tuesday's tally wasn't particularly impressive, it still gives MacArthur his fourth goal and fifth point in the last four games, vaulting into the team lead for the season in both categories.

MacArthur was the lone goal scorer in Monday's 1-0 victory over the Panthers in Sunrise.

MacArthur's first goal of the season was a second-period power-play marker that eventually held up as the game winner. It'll likely be a tall task for the ninth-year NHLer to surpass his career high in goals from last year (24), but with Jason Spezza gone and MacArthur locked into a top-line role with Bobby Ryan and Kyle Turris, there's no reason why he can't at least come close (health permitting). If, by chance, MacArthur is available on your wire, see if you can make space for him: he's looked good beside Ryan and Turris thus far and adds a bit of snarl in the PIM department also (78 last year).

MacArthur inked a five-year, $23.25 million extension with the Senators on Tuesday, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.

The 29-year-old scored a career-best 24 goals, 78 PIM and a plus-12 rating in his first season in Ottawa, and will be counted on to fill a top-line role long-term on the left wing.
