Head coach Paul Maurice hopes Little (leg) will be able to play in the Jets' next game Wednesday, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.

The extent of the injury that knocked Little out of Friday's game remains uncertain, but based on Maurice's comments, it does not appear he is facing an extended absence at this time. Expect the Jets to update Little's status sometime in the coming days.

Little scored a goal for the second consecutive game Tuesday against the Jackets, adding an assist and a plus-1 rating.

After ending a 13-game goal drought on Saturday, Little apparently decided he liked this whole 'scoring' concept and stuck with it. He's well off last year's 64-point pace, but a decent hot streak could erase his early-season struggles from fantasy owners' memories.

Little scored his sixth goal of the season in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Blues.

Little had gone seven straight without a point coming in, and 13 consecutive without a goal before his first period tally. He now has 12 points and while he likely won't match the 64 he recorded last season, Little can still end up around the 50 point mark if he can avoid droughts like the one he just snapped.

Little registered a power-play goal and added two penalty minutes in his 21:53 of action Friday night against the Lightning.

The goal was the Jets first with the man-advantage this season, and puts Little just one away from 100 career goals during his time with the franchise. The 26-year-old center doesn't receive a ton of buzz relative to the league's other top pivots, but he's a fairly reliable source for 20 goals and 50 points most seasons.

Little scored two goals, including one shorthanded, in the Jets' 6-2 win over Arizona Thursday.

Little had a career year a season ago, tallying his best assists and points marks with 41 and 64 respectively. Centering the team's first line, Little should have a real opportunity to build on his 23 goals from the 2013-14 season.

Little finished the preseason with two goals and no assists in three appearances.

Little had a career high in points last season, scoring 23 goals and 41 assists in all 82 games. It is definitely possible that his stats increase this year alongside linemates Michael Frolik and Andrew Ladd but they should remain around the same level as last season. Little could be a steal in later rounds due to the heavily-loaded Central Division so look out for him as a value pick.
