Lewis (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday.

Lewis hasn't resumed skating since suffering an upper-body injury last week's season opener. With Jake Muzzin and Marian Gaborik also day-to-day with upper-body injuries of their own, the Kings were down to just 20 healthy players and in desperate need of some reinforcement.

Lewis (upper body) will not play Saturday against the Coyotes, Jon Rosen of LAKingsInsider.com reports.

Lewis wasn't present at Friday's practice and appears doubtful to play Sunday against the Jets as well. With the fourth-liner still bothered by the upper-body injury, look for Jordan Nolan to see the ice in his stead.

Lewis suffered an upper-body injury in Wednesday's loss to the Sharks, Lisa Dillman of the Los Angeles Times reports.

A regular fourth-liner for the Kings, Lewis was surprisingly active Wednesday, attempting six shots on goal while laying two hits in his 10:29 of ice time. He'll likely take the next two days off to rest with the hope of being ready to go for Saturday's tilt with the Coyotes.

Trevor Lewis has been a pleasant surprise for the Los Angeles Kings in their 2014 playoff run.

Lewis has four goals and five points in 13 games after netting just six goals in 73 regular season contests. He also accounted for the game-winning goal in Game 6 on Wednesday. "I have a lot of trust in Trevor," Kings coach Darryl Sutter said. "It doesn't matter if he is scoring or not. We can move him all over the lineup. He's played left wing the last two games, center the game before that, he played right wing every game before that."

Trevor Lewis scored a goal in Los Angeles' 4-3 loss to Anaheim Monday night.

It was Lewis' first goal since April 20. He now has three goals and four points in 12 postseason contests in 2013-14. Those numbers might not sound like much, but keep in mind he had just six goals and 11 points in 73 regular season contests.

Trevor Lewis scored in his second straight game for the Kings on Sunday.

That's the good news. The bad news is that Lewis is the only Los Angeles forward to get the puck past Antti Niemi as the other three goals have been scored by defensemen. Lewis had only six goals and 11 points in 73 regular season games so this offensive outburst has come out of nowhere.

Lewis inked a two-year, $3.05 million contract extension just before the playoffs started. He had six goals and 11 points in 73 regular season games.

Trevor Lewis' two-year contract extension is worth $3.05 million.

"He's a big part of our team, a part of our identity," Kings coach Darryl Sutter said. "He plays all three forward positions, plays special teams, has the speed to play the way the game is. He's part of that championship team, so good for him." Lewis is a non-factor in standard fantasy leagues though. He has six goals and 11 points in 70 games this season.
