Leino signed with Medvescak Zagreb of the KHL on Sunday, Chris Johnston of Sportsnet reports. Leino was released by the Bruins in late September, which led to the expectation that he would sign overseas. It's possible he could again receive some NHL interest with a strong showing, but his NHL career also may be over.

The Bruins released Leino from his professional contract Monday. Leino has struggled ever since going to the Cup finals with the Flyers in 2010, and it appears his NHL career may be over. Unless we hear of another team picking him up, it's safest to consider him irrelevant in fantasy leagues.

The Bruins have invited Leino to training camp on a tryout basis, the Boston Herald reports. Though he is coming off a 2013-14 season in which he notched zero goals and had 15 assists for the Sabres in 58 games, the Bruins could use some wing depth and it's plausible that with a fresh start, Leino could carve out a top-nine role with the team if he turns in a strong training camp.

Ville Leino has successfully cleared unconditional waivers. No surprise there. The Buffalo Sabres will buy out the final three seasons of Leino's three-year, $27 million contract. Leino's last two seasons have been disastrous as he's scored just two goals over that span, and because of that, we doubt he'll get anything more than a cheap, one-year deal.

Ville Leino wasn't surprised to find out that the Buffalo Sabres will buy him out. Markus Lehto, who is Ville Leino's agent, said that his client's priority is to remain in the NHL. "He knows he's a very good NHL player. Obviously, the past two seasons have been just average, I would say, but I'm not going to go and try and analyze what happened," Lehto said. If Lehto considers Leino's last two seasons an example of what "average" is, then we would hate to see bad. Leino has scored just two goals over the last two campaigns.

The Buffalo Sabres have decided to buy out Ville Leino. Leino needs to clear waivers first, which shouldn't be an obstacle given that he's a guy being paid like a top-six forward who has scored just two goals over the last two seasons. He has declined so much since he signed his six-year, $27 million contract with Buffalo that it's entirely possible that his next deal might not even be one-way.

Ville Leino's agent, Markus Lehto, said he hasn't spoken much with the Buffalo Sabres since the end of the season. "I have had few very short discussions about Leino with Tim Murray," said Lehto. Murray said that buying out Leino was a "very good possibility" back in April. It will cost the Sabres $7.333 million to buy out the remaining three seasons of his contract. Buffalo may decide to use a regular buyout on him to help them stay closer to the cap floor, but they could also use a compliance buyout when the window opens 48 hours after the Stanley Cup Final.

There's a "very good possibility" that Ville Leino will get bought out, according to Sabres GM Tim Murray. It would be shocking if Murray actually decided to keep Leino after making a statement like that. Leino inked a six-year, $27 million contract that runs through 2016-17. He had a disastrous campaign where he recorded just 15 points in 58 contests.

Ville Leino scored the shootout winner in Tuesday's game against the New Jersey Devils. He still has no regulation markers in 53 games this campaign, but he relished the opportunity to step up for his teammates and for the fans in attendance. "I miss a little bit of that feeling when you get that," Leino said. "Obviously, we haven't been in playoffs for a while or been winning that much, so it's tough. It's tough times, but those moments you get a little energy, extra effort to want to win it, put it in."

Ville Leino should be ready to play Tuesday against New Jersey after missing Saturday's game with what is believed to be an ocular migraine. "It's something to do with your eyes and you started seeing lights and shapes, and your eyes have a delay," Leino explained. "It took me a couple days. I couldn't really focus much because your eyes are delayed, so you talk to someone and you don't realize you're talking to him because your eyes fall away. This is the first time I ever had it. It's a weird feeling, but I'm feeling better now." Just an FYI as Leino shouldn't be on your fantasy roster. He has no goals and 12 assists in 52 games this season.
