Don't be surprised if Dallas trades for a young goalie to back up starter Kari Lehtonen.

They have highly touted Jack Campbell in their system, but the 22-year-old can't seem to stay healthy. So the Stars may look outside the organization for an up and coming netminder. One of Boston's young stud prospects Malcolm Subban and Niklas Svedberg may be available. As well, Detroit may be willing to part with Petr Mrazek or Tom McCollum if they re-sign UFA Jonas Gustavsson. Stay tuned.

Veteran goalie Kari Lehtonen stopped 25 Anaheim shots but allowed five goals en route to the Stars' 5-4 overtime loss to the Ducks in Dallas Sunday night.

The loss eliminated the Stars from the playoffs in six games. It would be stretching it to suggest that Lehtonen had anything more than an average series. His GAA was 3.29 and he finished with a save percentage of .885.

Kari Lehtonen is projected to start in Game 6 on Sunday.

Lehtonen was the first goaltender off the ice after the morning skate, which is usually a good indicator of who will play between the pipes. This isn't much of a surprise, but it's still worth noting after Lehtonen allowed five goals on 21 shots before being pulled on Friday.

Kari Lehtonen allowed five goals on only 21 shots in Dallas' 6-2 loss to Anaheim Friday night.

The Stars replaced Lehtonen with Tim Thomas in the third period, but that didn't help. Thomas lunged far out of his crease to try and poke the puck away from Corey Perry near the left circle, but he rounded the goalkeeper like someone would in soccer and scored into the open net for a 6-2 lead. The Stars and the Ducks will meet again in Dallas on Sunday and Lehtonen should be between the pipes then.

It was Lehtonen's first career playoff victory and shutout and he should be the starter in Game 4 also on Wednesday.
