Koivu (illness) participated in line rushes at morning skate and appears set to play Saturday against the Lightning, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Held out of Friday's practice with the illness, Koivu's full participation in morning skate seems to verify his presence in the lineup Saturday night. He's set to move down from his usual top-line perch to pivot the Wild's second line, where he'll be flanked by Nino Niederreiter and Justin Fontaine.

Koivu (illness) missed Friday's practice, Chad Graff of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Koivu was feeling ill toward the end of Thursday's win over the Flyers, so the team is likely just giving him some rest with the hope that he'll be good to go in time for Saturday's game against the Lightning. The team should have an update on his condition following their morning skate Saturday.

Koivu was dealing with an illness following Thursday's game against the Flyers, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports.

The Wild have a bout of mumps flying around the locker room, but that reportedly doesn't appear to be the case with Koivu. The team will likely update his status at some point before their next game Saturday against the Lightning.

Koivu had four shots on goal in 19:12 of ice time in Tuesday's loss to New Jersey, but did not register a point for the fourth consecutive game.

Koivu continues to struggle as he has just two goals and one assist in 14 games. The Wild have had him change lines, but it hasn't resulted in improved production.

Koivu didn't have a shot on goal or assist, but had one blocked shot in Tuesday's win over Boston. He skated on a new line with Jason Zucker and Charlie Coyle, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

The Wild broke up the line that featured Koivu and Thomas Vanek with both players off to a slow start. It didn't end Koivu's slow start (he has just one point in eight games), but perhaps he'll find better chemistry with his new line.

Koivu did not have any points and just one shot on goal in 17 minutes of ice time Thursday despite the Wild blowing out Colorado 6-0.

Koivu begins the season on a line with Matt Cooke and Thomas Vanek. It may take time for him to click with newcomer Vanek, so don't read too much into the first game.

Mikko Koivu earned a pair of assists in a 5-2 win for Minnesota against Colorado on Monday.

He had a helping hand in both of Zach Parise's goals in the contest. The Wild forced Game 7 with the victory, which will take place on Wednesday night back in Colorado. Mikko Koivu, at 31, has played in 601 regular-season games over nine seasons, but he has been to the playoffs only three times and never has made it past the first round.

As the Minnesota Wild captain prepares for the franchise's fifth Western Conference playoff appearance, starting Thursday night at Colorado, there's great pressure on Koivu to avenge a 4-1 playoff series loss to Chicago last season. Koivu failed to earn a point offensively and finished a minus-6 matched against Chicago's do-it-all center, Jonathan Toews. Koivu certainly wasn't the only Wild player to struggle, but as the team's captain, his struggles were the most pronounced. "When you're not able to (produce), obviously you get frustrated and disappointed," Koivu said. "You have to learn from that individually. You want to be better, and this is my chance for that."
