Evander Kane suffered through a terrible outing in the Jets 4-0 loss to Pittsburgh on Thursday.

Just two nights after a four-point outing against the Hurricanes, Kane was on the ice for all four Pittsburgh goals and managed just three shots on goal in the loss. It was an tough night all-around for the Jets, but Kane certainly struggled more than most in this one.

Evander Kane has cooled off considerably since his February hot streak.

He has potted three goals and no assists in his past 14 matches. Kane has still been racking up shots and chipping in penalty minutes over that span, but he isn't cashing like he was earlier. Part of the blame is being placed on his new linemates, Olli Jokinen and Antti Miettinen, for not creating much in the way of opportunities for him. However, with his strength and speed he should be able to generate chances of his own as well.

Evander Kane is taking the glass-half-full approach despite two straight bad losses to the Capitals.

"This is just a speed bump," Kane said. "Some adversity for us. Come playoffs, if you get down 2-0 in a series you have to find a way to battle back. So this could be helpful for us. "We have 17 some games left in the season and we need to continue to collect points. We feel we are a playoff team and we're not going to settle for anything less. Our division race is tight every night, we know what we need to do and we've proven we can go 10-2-3 over a 15-game span and that's pretty much what's left so that's our goal and we won't settle for not making the playoffs."

Evander Kane's eight-game point streak came to an end late last week.

He registered 10 shots and two penalty minutes in games against New Jersey (Thursday) and Washington (Saturday), but couldn't get a point to stretch his scoring spree. Kane's surge places him behind only captain Andrew Ladd for the team-scoring lead with 18 points in 21 games.

Winnipeg coach Claude Noel praised the play of Evander Kane following Tuesday night's 4-3 win over the Rangers.

"He's in a pretty good place now. He pushes that threshold of continuing to succeed," said Noel of Kane's recent eight-game point streak. "He's got a streak going and it drives him. You can see his minutes are up, he's skating well... you watch, the more he gets into the game the more he skates the more he seems to be dangerous. It might be the best I've seen him play. I mean, he's shooting the puck so well. You've got to shoot when you've got bullets like he has." Kane leads the Jets in scoring now with 18 points in 19 games.
