Ryan Jones will miss the rest of the season with a torn PCL. He sustained the knee ailment in Friday's game against Anaheim. Jones recorded six points and 40 penalty minutes in 52 matches this season.

Ryan Jones downplayed the knee injury he sustained while blocking a shot on Tuesday. Jones had to get help to get off the ice, but he was never terribly worried because he was familiar with the spot that got hit. "It did swell up pretty quickly and then we had to wait to get the swelling down during the period," Jones said. "I was back in the dressing room, likely not being so friendly, trying to get things figured out. But once the swelling went down, it seemed to be OK." He has blocked 20 shots in 51 games this season.

Ryan Jones suffered a probable knee injury during Tuesday's game. Jones took a puck to the knee that ended his night. He wasn't able to get to the dressing room on his own strength. He has two goals and six points in 51 games this season.

The Edmonton Oilers have lost six consecutive games and 11 of their past 13 and veteran forward Ryan Jones thinks it's foolish that management and coaches are taking heat instead of the players. "As a player you see the things that are said and written and it's a Pass The Blame Game," he said. "The coaches and management don't play the game. We play the same system as basically every other team in the NHL, it's the players that lose. Yet they (coaches and managers) take the blame. It's about time the guys in this lockerroom took a little bit of accountability on themselves and stopped letting other people take the blame."

Ryan Jones is hoping to make the most of his chance with the Oilers this season. The 29-year-old was recalled from the AHL on Oct. 15 and has played well enough to be elevated to top-line minutes with David Perron ailing. He knows consistency has eluded him his career. "I've had good stretches throughout my career but the one thing I honestly can't say I've done, is put together 25, 30 games where the coach can say, 'Ah, I'll put you out there all the time," Jones said. "I've shortened my term of thinking. In those years I had the 17, 18 goals, I was thinking if I could score once every four games that would make me a 20-goal scorer. That was my goal because I thought I could help the team that way. But what would happen is that I could go three games without scoring but then if I scored in the fourth, I could justify that. Now I go in thinking I want to have the best game I've had all year. Even more short term than that, every shift I go out, I want to make an impact one way or another."

Ryan Jones netted his first goal of the season on Tuesday. Jones was playing in his third game of the season after starting the 2013-14 campaign in the minors. Several key Oilers' forwards are sidelined, so there's an opportunity there for Jones to reestablish himself with the team.

Look for Ryan Jones to play on Tuesday in place of the injured Taylor Hall. Jones was recalled from the minors on Tuesday after he scored twice in four games for Oklahoma City of the AHL. He played 27 games last season for the Oilers, picking up seven points and 17 penalty minutes.

Ryan Jones hasn't given up on playing in the NHL. Jones cleared waivers and was sent to the minors after failing to make the Oilers' opening game roster. He will instead start the season with the AHL Oklahoma City Barons. "I'm not going to go down there and pout and bring down the guys who are there. I want to be a good team guy, a good leader, but at the same time, I'm going to do my damnedest to get back to the NHL," Jones said. He signed a one-year/$1.5 million contract over the summer. A strong start in the AHL could be enough to get the Oilers to take another chance on him.

Ryan Jones has been put on waivers by the Edmonton Oilers. Jones inked a one-year/$1.5 million contract with Edmonton over the summer, but it looks like he's failed to make the team. There's a chance that he'll end up being claimed, but we don't expect him to have any fantasy value in standard leagues regardless.
