Johnson scored his second goal of the season in Saturday's 4-3 shootout win over the Penguins, extending his point streak to four games.

The Blue Jackets are on fire right now, winning six straight games, and Johnson is reaping the benefits. The defenseman now has 14 points in 26 games on the season, although his atrocious minus-18 rating makes him tough to roster.

Johnson scored the equalizer in the third period of Friday's eventual 4-3 shootout loss to the Bruins.

It was his first goal of the season, but with eight points in 16 games Johnson is actually on pace for his best season since 2010-2011. His decision to file for bankruptcy made headlines, but it doesn't seem like it will affect his performance.

Johnson has filed for bankruptcy, the Columbus Dispatch reports.

Piles of debt after years of financial mismanagement by Johnson's parents, to whom he'd given control of his earnings, have apparently left the defenseman with no other options. A court hearing on the matter is scheduled for January. Johnson has seven points, all assists, and an ugly minus-12 rating through 15 games but the latter is mostly due to the patchwork nature of the Jackets' lineup around him rather than his off-ice troubles.

Johnson (suspension) will return to the Columbus lineup Friday against the Flyers.

With Johnson's three-game suspension now completed, he'll be cleared to reclaim his usual spot on the team's top pairing. The veteran blueliner hasn't been much of an asset for fantasy owners thus far, posting no goals, five assists and a minus-11 rating over 12 games.

Johnson was suspended three games for his illegal hit to the head on Carolina's Jiri Tlusty on Tuesday, Shawn Mitchell of the Columbus Dispatch reports.

Johnson was hoping that his career track record of relatively clean play would allow him to avoid a suspension, but the NHL Department of Player Safety determined that the hit was too vicious to go unpunished. In addition to missing the rematch against Carolina on Friday, Johnson will sit out contests Saturday and Tuesday versus the Lightning and Capitals, respectively. He'll be eligible to return to the ice Nov. 14 against the Flyers.

Johnson will have a hearing with the NHL's Department of Player Safety on Wednesday, Chris Johnston of Sportsnet reports.

Johnson delivered a blindside hit to the head of Carolina's Jiri Tlusty in Tuesday's game, with Tlusty unable to return to the game after exiting the ice. The blueliner was only assessed a two-minute penalty for the hit, but the league office seems to be seriously considering a suspension. Johnson will receive the opportunity to give his interpretation of the incident before the Department of Player Safety renders a decision, which will almost certainly come down before the Blue Jackets and Hurricanes get together for a rematch in Carolina on Friday.

Johnson assisted on both of Ryan Johansen's goals Tuesday, but also went minus-3 in the 4-2 loss to Dallas.

Despite thes points, the early returns have not been very good for Johnson, as he's gone minus-6 over the first three games of the year and has taken just three shots on net. The former No. 3 overall pick has never quite lived up to the billing, so owners who want the points he can provide are just going to have to deal with the plus-minus liability.

Jack Johnson led all players in ice time once again as he played 26:49 minutes in a 3-1 loss on Saturday to Pittsburgh.

Johnson has been a workhorse in the playoffs which included a 38:21 minute game in Game 2 which went into double overtime. "I don't think there is a (ceiling)," coach Todd Richards said. "Jack's ceiling is outside somewhere. It is impressive the minutes that he's been able to log. And he's playing tough minutes. They aren't easy. He's playing against great players, world-class players, and he's able to do it over and over again." Johnson has three goals and five points in five playoff games this post-season.

Jack Johnson tied an NHL record for defensemen by scoring a goal in three straight contests to start the playoffs.

Johnson is already approaching his regular season goal total of five in 82 games. He'll slow down of course, but he's been one of the Blue Jackets' top offensive contributors so far.
