Matt Hunwick has agreed to join Team USA for the upcoming IIHF World Championships.

Hunwick has six assists and 14 penalty minutes in 42 games this season. This will be his first time participating in the adult tournament, but he did represent Team USA in the IIHF World Junior Championships before establishing himself in the NHL.

Matt Hunwick (torso) will return to the Colorado Avalanche's lineup on Thursday.

Hunwick was on the ice Wednesday for the first time in a week. The Avalanche needed reinforcements now that defenseman Erik Johnson (head) is out.

Matt Hunwick will not be in the Colorado lineup Monday as he is out with a torso injury.

Hunwick will be replaced by Tyson Barrie on the Avs blueline. Hunwick has a string of zeroes on his stat sheet in seven games with the exception of a two minute minor and has no value in traditional fantasy pools while Barrie will play in only his fourth game of the young season.
