The Senators say Mike Hoffman (undisclosed) won't play Friday night.

Hoffman was injured in the third period of Tuesday's game against Boston and appeared to be favoring his shoulder as he left the ice. The Sens are hoping the injury isn't serious but it should be noted Hoffman missed two months earlier this year after breaking his collarbone while in the minors. We'll update you as we know more.

Mike Hoffman is projected to start Thursday's game versus the New York Rangers on a line with Kyle Turris and Daniel Alfredsson.

"There's a little bit of pressure (to create offense), but that's my game, that's what I'm going to have to do to stay up here," said Hoffman. He has generated 13 goals and 15 assists in 41 contests with Binghamton in the AHL this year. Hoffman played in one game with Ottawa last season.

Hoffman was part of Ottawa's abbreviated training camp this season before being returned to Binghamton. The 23-year old has 13 goals and 28 points in 41 AHL games this season. Hoffman likely won't have any fantasy value this season.
