Ales Hemsky dished out four assists in the Senators' 5-3 win over the Jets on Saturday evening.
When Hemsky is at his best, he is creating offense, lighting the lamp at a good pace but setting up even more. The problem, of course, is he tends to disappear too frequently. Thus far, he has six points with Ottawa in three games. He has nine goals and 30 points on the season. Milan Michalek and Mike Hoffman each scored and assisted, while Eric Gryba, Kyle Turris and Jared Cowen potted the other goals. Jason Spezza had four helpers.

Ales Hemsky acknowledged that he might have played in his last game with Edmonton.
With the team out of the playoff race, they are believed to be actively shopping Hemsky. He scored twice on Tuesday in what might have been his final game with the Oilers. "It's sad if it comes to an end, but it is what it is. It's business," Hemsky said. "We'll see what happens. I wish it had been a different situation, that we were battling for the playoffs and that they would want to sign me. It's a different situation than that."

Ales Hemsky scored two goals to lead the Oilers to a 3-2 win against the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday at Rexall Place.
One of Hemsky's best performances with the Edmonton Oilers this season may very well have been his last. He is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season and he is expected to be traded by the Oilers prior to the NHL Trade Deadline at 3 p.m. ET on Wednesday. If Hemsky is traded Wednesday, he finish his career with the Oilers having played 652 regular-season games with the team, scoring 142 goals and 335 assists for 477 points. This season he has nine goals and 17 assists in 55 games. Jordan Eberle also scored for the Oilers, while Taylor Hall added two helpers in the victory.

Look for forward Ales Hemsky to be dealt by the Edmonton Oilers before the NHL's trade deadline on Wednesday.
"I know what will happen and I'm ready for it," Hemsky said. "I'm excited." Hemsky hasn't asked to be traded, but he's an unrestricted free agent in July and has already been with Edmonton a year longer than he and the Oilers decided was best when they agreed to part ways last summer, only to be reunited in training camp when general manager Craig MacTavish wasn't satisfied with the returns being offered in a trade. This time, it's for real, so Hemsky is making sure to stop and smell the roses on the way out. "I'll just try and enjoy the moment with the guys," he said. "It could be the last two games in this lockerroom so I better enjoy it, enjoy every moment. Spend it with the guys, spend it with friends and people I know." Hemsky has seven goals and 17 assists in 53 games for the lowly Oilers this season and could be very productive with the right offensive-minded team.

Hemsky is expected to play alongside Sam Gagner and Jordan Eberle when the NHL schedule resumes. Hemsky's scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this summer and the Oilers are presumably shopping him ahead of the March 5 trade deadline. Bumping him up to a scoring line will allow give interested parties one last chance to see what he can do before they make a bid.

With the defeat, the Czechs are eliminated from Olympic play. Both of Hemsky's goals were unassisted. He has recorded only eight markers and 24 points in 52 matches with Edmonton this season.

Ales Hemsky received just 6:58 of ice time in Wednesday's Olympic opener versus Sweden.
"It's hard if you don't play the first half of the game," Hemsky said after the Czech Republic's 4-2 loss. "I'm not used to it. I didn't sit like that for how many years, but it is what it is. I just tried to get back and just get my legs going." He didn't get a shift in the first period and made his first appearance about 31 minutes into the match.

Ales Hemsky returned from an ankle injury Saturday, but his return didn't help the Oilers find the scoresheet in a 4-0 loss to Boston.
He logged 15:05 of ice time and registered one shot after missing seven games with the ailment. Hemsky has seven goals and 24 points in 49 matches this year.
