Bailey has been moved up to the second line, according to Newsday's Arthur Staple.

Bailey will take the place of the injured Mikhail Grabovski. Grabovski is not expected to be out long so this could just be a short term move, but for at least this weekend Bailey will line up on wing with Ryan Strome and Brock Nelson.

Bailey was one of four Islanders to score a goal in Saturday's win over the Hurricanes.

The Islanders appear to have settled on Cory Conacher as their left wing on the John Tavares line, but working alongside Frans Nielsen and Nikolay Kulemin on the third line isn't a terrible gig for Bailey. Even so, the Islanders' offseason upgrades to their forward ranks may make it difficult to Bailey to surpass last season's production (eight goals, 30 assists in 77 games).

Bailey scored his first goal of the preseason Monday versus the Senators.

What makes this worthy of an update isn't the goal he scored but rather he was given the first opportunity to play on the top line with John Tavares. Training camp is likely to be an open tryout for several Islanders to prove they should play on the wing opposite Tavares and see their Fantasy value rise accordingly.

Forward Josh Bailey was a healthy scratch from the New York Islanders'lineup Friday against Detroit after having gone 15 games (since Oct. 25) without a goal.
