Coach Pete DeBoer said he may get some "fresh legs" into the lineup for Thursday's game against Buffalo, so blueliner Peter Harrold eagerly threw his name into the conversation when he spoke to the media.

"There is nobody fresher than I am," Harrold said with a smile. "He hasn't said anything to me but obviously I want to play. I would welcome that." He has played in just one game so far this season.

Peter Harrold has agreed to terms with the New Jersey Devils.

Harrold was eligible to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. The terms of the deal were not revealed. He had four points in 17 games during the Devils' 2012 playoff run.

The New Jersey Devils have a chance to wrap up their series versus the New York Rangers with a win on Friday night. Harrold was with the Kings' organization for five seasons before signing with the Devils as an unrestricted free agent last summer. "I think they lost two games all playoffs," he said. "They're obviously playing really well. Good for them. Hopefully we'll get a chance to beat them." Harrold has recorded four assists and a plus-3 rating in 13 playoff games.
