Peter Harrold (foot) will be activated on Monday if Anton Volchenkov is unable to go.
Harrold has been out of action since December 7 with the fractured foot. He practiced on Sunday with Jonathon Merrill. "The only time he's not been good or his game has fallen off is when he's gotten fatigued because of how hard he plays," coach Peter DeBoer said. "So he should be fresh. I've got no problem putting him in. I think he can help us if it comes to that." He has no fantasy value as his two assists in 21 games will attest to.

Peter Harrold (foot) has been placed on the injured reserve list.
Harrold has a fractured bone in his foot and needs to wear a cast for a week, so the decision to put him on the injured reserve list isn't surprising. He'll be re-evaluated once he gets out of the cast.

Peter Harrold is healthy enough to play Thursday after having his right wrist/arm jammed on a hit from Columbus' David Savard on Tuesday.
However, he won't suit up against Vancouver. Eric Gelinas and Adam Larsson will play on the team's bottom-pairing instead. "Harry's played some good hockey for us," coach Pete DeBoer said. "I think he was fantastic early. He's not a big guy. I think sometimes the grind levels his play off a little bit and we're just going to take a step back here and put some fresh legs in."

The New Jersey Devils re-sign defenseman Peter Harrold for two years and $1.6 million.
The deal will average $800,000 per season and keep Harrold in New Jersey through at least the 2014-15 season. Harrold will continue to serve as a depth defenseman for the Devils and has no real fantasy value.
