After a mini scoring drought, Backstrom has been on fire lately, picking up five points in his last three games. With Backstrom's elite passing ability, he should have no problem racking up more points by continuing to feed Alex Ovechkin as the season rolls on.

Alex Ovechkin's long-time center played a major role in Ovi's team-record-setting night, as Ovechkin's assist on Backstrom's first-period goal gave him Washington's all-time points record. For Backstrom's part, the two-point night pushes him to 13 points on the year and exactly a point per game over the course of his own career -- 507 points in 507 contests.
