Greene scored the game-winning goal in Saturday's 2-0 win over Columbus.

It was a pretty snipe -- he joined the rush up the left wing and took a pretty feed from Patrick Elias before wiring a wrister top cheddar from the left circle. It's only his second goal of the season (63 games), but second in his last five. Alas, that doesn't make him fantasy worthy; it just makes him lucky.

Greene notched an assist in Tuesday's win over the Senators.

With 12 assists on the campaign, Greene is half way to last season's totals, but it's his dropoff in goal scoring that has really sunk his fantasy value. Coming off a career-best eight-goal showing in 2013-14, Greene has failed to find the net in 51 games, with his low SOG totals (1.0 per game) not helping matters.

Greene is still looking for his first goal of the season.

After tallying a career-best eight goals a season ago, Greene was expected to see that total regress a little bit, but not nearly to this extent. Though the top-pairing defender is averaging 23:28 of ice time, he's attempting barely over a shot per game, which hasn't helped his chances of breaking the scoring slump.

Greene has proven he is consistent on defense early on in the season. His offensive production comes sporadically, but that should be perceived as icing on the cake to his defensive contributions.

Greene was a minus-1 and had two blocks in the Devils' OT loss to the Rangers.

Greene played heavy minutes today, and having to play shorthanded for an extended amount of time probably contributed to his minus-1 rating. However, he has remained consistent on the defensive end.

New Jersey Devils coach Pete DeBoer thinks Andy Greene should have made the United States' Olympic roster.

"I think guys like that have a harder time getting recognized for what they do just because they don't have that flash, unless you watch them closely," DeBoer said. "And there are a lot of players in the league like that. That's probably the case with him." The Devils have been leaning heavily on Greene this season, giving him an average of 25:40 minutes per contest. He has seven goals and 24 points in 57 games this season.
