Green (upper body) will not play Friday against the Islanders, Alex Prewitt of the Washington Post reports.

Jack Hillen will spell him in the Capitals' lineup for the second straight game. It hasn't been reported that Green has resumed skating since suffering the injury, so it's not clear when he might rejoin the lineup.

Green (upper body) will not play Wednesday against the Islanders, Alex Prewitt of the Washington Post reports.

Green was unable to practice for the second straight day Tuesday, prompting coach Barry Trotz to rule him out for Wednesday's contest. The 29-year-old rearguard, who has 12 points in 19 games this season, will likely be replaced in the lineup by Jack Hillen.

Green (upper body) did not skate Monday morning, Alex Prewitt of the Washington Post reports.

Green left Saturday's game with the injury, and looks like he won't be available Wednesday against the Islanders. Considering how injury prone Green has been throughout his career, fantasy owners should be keeping a close eye on Green's recovery moving forward.

Green suffered an upper-body injury in Saturday's game against Buffalo and will not return.

The Capitals are listing Green as day-to-day, so hopefully this is a minor ailment. Fortunately for Green, the Caps have the next three days off before returning to action Wednesday against the Islanders.

Green assisted on the Capitals' lone goal in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Blues.

Green has gone without a goal for 11 games, but he's still been picking up helpers with enough regularity to remain valuable for his fantasy owners. The 29-year-old blueliner has 12 points over 16 games on the season.

Green dished out a pair of assists in Sunday's loss to Vancouver.

As long as he remains healthy, Green has great offensive potential on the blueline. Through seven games, Green looks rejuvenated, recording three goals and eight points, to go with a plus-6 rating. He is showing signs of the 70-point player he was in 2008-09 and 2009-10. Fantasy owners should take advantage.

Green found the back of the net in Wednesday's loss to the Oilers.

Green has looked like the high-scoring blueliner of yore in the early stages of the season, as he's already posted three goals and three assists over five games. Injuries are a perpetual concern for the blueliner, but when he's healthy, few defensemen in the league offer as much offensive upside.

Green picked up a pair of assists in Thursday's win over the Devils.

Though he's already missed a game to injury, Green's been terrifically productive when on the ice, having racked up five points and a plus-3 rating through three games. The sledding's been tough for the injury-prone blueliner over the last few years, but it's clear that his skills haven't faded -- at least, when he's healthy.

Green notched a goal, an assist, and three shots in Washington's 6-5 shootout loss to San Jose on Tuesday.

The former Norris Trophy candidate is off to a solid start to the season despite playing slightly reduced minutes after the arrival of Matt Niskanen and Brooks Orpik in free agency this summer. Given his inconsistency, and perhaps more importantly his injury history, Green is a boom or bust type of fantasy defenseman. As long as he's healthy and getting power play time with Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom, he's worth playing every night.

Green (upper body) notched a goal in his return to the ice Saturday against the Bruins.

The puck-moving blueliner vaulted the Capitals to a 3-0 lead on a one-timer past goalie Tuukka Rask, while the team was riding the man-advantage. The upper-body injury sidelined Green for only one game, but health is an annual concern for the 29-year-old. He should still rank among the better fantasy producers at his position on a per-game basis.
