Mikhail Grabovski C NYI 2 Months

Grabovski (concussion) went through a light skate Tuesday morning, TSN's Mark Masters reports.

Head coach Jack Capuano was encouraged by Grabovski's participation, calling it a positive sign in his recovery. Grabovski remains day-to-day for now, but with him back on the ice, a return should not be far off, so long as his concussion symptoms do not worsen.

Grabovski was diagnosed with concussion-like symptoms Friday, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.

This would explain the Islanders' rationale for ruling Grabovski "out indefinitely" after their practice Friday. The forward will be reevaluated early next week, with the hope that he'll be able to return to the ice before long.

Grabovski (undisclosed) won't travel with the Islanders to Pittsburgh for Saturday's game and has been ruled out indefinitely, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.

Though the Islanders haven't offered much clarity on the exact nature of his injury, it's possible that Grabovski is experiencing concussion-like symptoms as a result of the hit he took from the Sharks' John Scott on Tuesday. The Islanders will reassess Grabovski's condition when they return to Long Island after the weekend, but if the forward ends up missing subsequent games, a move to IR will likely be considered.

Grabovski (upper body) will not return to Thursday night's game, according to Newsday's Arthur Staple.

Grabovski was caught with his head down and was run over by the Sharks' John Scott. The head looked to be a legal one so no supplemental discipline should be forthcoming.

Grabovski left the ice after taking a hard hit from the Sharks' John Scott in Thursday's game, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.

Grabovski looked as though he may have sustained a concussion from the hit, as he appeared to be out cold on the ice before he was helped off by a trainer. The Islanders will run tests on him before a proper diagnosis of his condition is provided.

Grabovski grabbed a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Rangers. He went plus-1 on the evening.

Grabo's off to a strong start with the Isles, but his health is always going to be a concern. Still, his line with Ryan Strome and Brock Nelson is shaping up to be a strong one for the Isles.

Grabovski has been playing on a line with Nikolay Kulemin during training camp, according to the Islanders Point Blank.

Not only is this duo playing on a line together but their lockers are also next to each other. They will anchor the second line for the Islanders and how they play together could go a long way towards determining how successful a season the team will have.

Mikhail Grabovski has inked a four-year, $20 million contract with the New York Islanders.

Grabovski struggled in the second half of the 2013-14 campaign, in part due to injury, but he's capable of recording over 50 points per season. In New York, he'll likely serve as the team's second-line center behind John Tavares. That might cause Frans Nielsen to shift from center as he should also be on one of the Islanders' top two lines.

Mikhail Grabovski will test the unrestricted free agent market.

No surprise there given that we're just over an hour away from the market opening, but if you needed early confirmation, then there you go. Grabovski's agent is claiming that about a dozen teams are interested in his client's services.

Contract talks with Mikhail Grabovski have hit a bit of a wall, according to Washington GM Brian MacLellan.

He said "the money is a little bit prohibitive right now" and reports indicate that Grabovski is seeking around $5 million per season. MacLellan has spoken with Grabovski's agent, Gary Greenstin, a couple of times in Philadelphia at the draft. If the two sides can't bride the gap then Garbovski will walk as an unrestricted free agent next week.
